A question to all Christian Twilight fans(A previous discussion re-opened)

I saw New moon and I was amazed.I have never seen a better movie adapted from a book, they did an incredible job.Chris Weiss did a much better job than Catherine Hardwicke. He paid alot more attention to detail and made New Moon alot closer to the book.Afterwords, I got to thinking about something. And I would like everyones opinion. It's not about New Moon, its about the last book-Breaking Dawn. This blog was created for those who see the positive messages that,we as Christians can relate to and learn from-So if you are not a Christian and don't care one way or the other, please dont bother to comment-I do not want to start a debate about beliefs. Now,here is the question-As a Christian,do you think Breaking Dawn had a happy ending or a sad ending and why?I see it as a very sad and tragic ending. From Bella's point of view, she didn't seem to care whether she was putting her soul in jeopardy or not,all she cared about was being with Edward. And as a Christian,I think that is wrong. If Edward had not given into the temptation to turn Bella,Yes,she would have died. But,Edward and the Cullens would have still been able to find a way to save themselves from the vampire curse. And Even if they all became mortal and died,Bella and Edward would still have spent eternity in heaven with eachother.Ontop of that, they would have still lived on through Renesmee. After all, thats what children are all about-a peice of each parent living on.THAT is TRUE immortality.By Edward giving in and turning Bella,he definately gave up his soul AND Bella's.Because, unlike the rest of the Cullens, they had a CHOICE and made it,disregarding their souls. And after all how much he faught not to turn her-I think he only turned her because he felt he had to make a decision right on the spot.Had he had a chance to think it through,I think he would have chosen differently, remembering his innitial reason for not turning her.I just want to say, this does not change the way I feel about Twilight. But as Christians, this is WHY we should love it,because it teaches us the most valuable lesson of all,the value of our souls. What does everyone think?

I think we,as Christians should be more openminded and perceptive.Because even secular stories have an underlying moral message that all Christians can relate to.Like Lord of the Rings and Chronicles of Narnia-for example. In Twilight's case,I think the vampire and the lust for blood is a metaphor for the lusts of the flesh and temptations that ALL people have to overcome daily. And the Cullens are a perfect example of Christians not conforming to the rest of the world and following a higher purpose.I mean,Stephanie Meyer is Mormon so she clearly meant for that to be the moral center of the story.Even though I don't agree with alot of Mormon views,I still think ALL religions can relate to the issue of the existance and the value of the soul and she used it perfectly.Like I said,I think more Christians should be more open minded and perceptive when it comes to Books and Movies, even fiction.Jesus himself used fiction to teach lessons--they were just called "parables".Alot of people just dont realize that.
well i am a christian and i belive that if you love someone and you know that you can live with them forever i would still do the same thing and give my soul away just to be with that person because i belive that love is the most important thing in this worl and with love you can fight any obstacle
Yes,love is the most important thing, but love for God,not another person.Jesus said the greatest commandment was to love God with all your heart and SOUL,and love eachother as yourself. But God comes first. She put her love for Edward BEFORE God-That put her soul in jeopardy.NO ONE should put their love for a man or a woman before their love for God.Like I said,I dont want a debate,I just think that Twilight teaches us to think about the value of our soul.

i agree with mabel. one of God's commandment was to love God and you neighbors are yourself. so i think that what Edward did was also right. and for me, if it wasnt fictional, then it wouldnt be much of a sin, because everything happens for a reason. God would've separated them both if He wanted too, but I guess he was okay with it.

im a little confused with myself at the moment. lol :)
yea,I am too lol
