I have to say that I feel for all of the young women that are being in that situation. Miley had to stop and talk to a paparazzo because they almost got her in accident and innocent bystanders could have been injured. Nicol Richie children was involved in a car accident when she was a passenger, her children have been victimized too.  She reacted very strongly in both situations.  Even though Paris and Lindsay have had their problems with drugs, I really think that constant scrutiny and paparazzi stalking has not helped them at all.  I think that the a lot of the paparazzi are not professional journalist but someone with a camera that doesn't know any limits.

Wow this is a heavy topic of conversation.  I think the actors despite a few have done very well with the characters.  Do I think KStew ruined any of the films, no!  When I watched New Moon I really felt her pain and infact when I am down and want to be depressed I will watch that movie and cry with Bella.  As for her public appearances and her being bitchy hmmm..  I think she can be bitchy and extremely overwhelmed in public and with the paparazzi.  I think she could be more gracious to her fans and has made comments that didn't show a warm side to her.  I think when you choose a career that is going to cause fame you should expect people to invade your personal life, it is the nature of the beast.  I do think she could be more kind however maybe in time she will soften some.  Now I don't blame her one bit for being uncomfy in interviews I would be the exact same way......

I don't know your cousin, but I can compare because my friends think the same way--- Full of s*** is right! Kristen does a FANTASTIC job, especially in New Moon!Don't let anyone make you think any different ;-)

She was 17 when she started Twilight but she was 8 when she started acting. By the time she started to film Twilight she had been acting for 9 years.  I saw in Into the Wild, Speak, Catch that Kid many films before she was in Twilight.  All of the actors, Kellan, Ashley, Kristen, Rob and Taylor and most of the original cast did not have a clue when they started to film the first Twilight that it would be this big a phenomenon.  The first movie was a very low budget film.

I would HATE being followed by paparzzi 24/7... so yes, I do empathizie for most actors/actresses. There are some people out there who want the attention- good for them. Kristen had no idea (or anyone else for that matter) that the Twilight movies were going to be such a big hit. Everyone was a little "low key" until the movies made it big. So I think the sudden change would be incredibly hard to deal with; and a little hostility about losing all your freedom would naturally come to the surface. 

I know we all love vampires/werewolves... but they are all still human :-) Can't forget that!

that's the point. she never had to deal with that before and it could be disorienting and stressful, and no one ever dreamed of twilight becoming this successful. did you know that twilight was a indie film with a low budget? no i bet not. the movie blew up over night so all the actors were thrust into this pretty quickly so they didn't have time to prepare for the fame.

that is not true. if there wasn't a world without twilight then i wouldn't know anything about it there for it wouldn't bother me. and i am not overly obsessed, i just like the actress and enjoy her movies and as a fan i have the right to defend her. yeah yeah i know you are thinking that she doesn't even know i exist, but that wont stop me from liking or sticking up for her.

Andrea, I agree with you.  Bella is supposed to be awkward.  I truly believe that most of the problems with any of the films is the script and direction not any of the actors. I have read the books several time. Kristen portrays Bella exactly the way I interpreted them from the book.  People are entitled to their opinion but the personal attacks on Kristen are not appropriate.  The criticism is not limited to her acting but to her personal life which is no one's business.  Everyone that has worked with her and has actually met her and has had real interaction with has only good things to say about her.  I too can't wait until Breaking Dawn to see Bella as a strong vampire that can protect her family.

I do not think that Kristen "ruined" any of the films. I have gotten the same remarks from people who I have watched the movies with before and I get so upset by their comments. But what makes me more frustrated is that most of those people have ONLY seen the movies. In the books Bella is this awkward person. Even Edward says so In Midnight Sun. Honestly I think that Kristen plays Bella very well. She has said before that she isn't always comfortable in media settings, she becomes anxious, nervous etc. and Bella is the exact same way. Bella doesn't wants the attention to be drawn away from her throughout most of the books.

 

I had a little trouble with a few things that went on in Eclipse, but I do not think that it was the acting. It was more about the writing. I felt as though they made Bella seem superior to Edward in most of that film, when in fact she isn't EVER. She is supposed to be the vulnerable human... that's why BD is so awesome because she is finally able to protect her vampire/werewolf family. I don't know, that's just my opinion.

yes, i feel the same way about them to a degree. i don't really care for those other people because they seek the attention, minus nicole richie. kristen just wants to enjoy her private life like a normal person does. and the paps should really respect that.

I would also like to point out new moon got a 4.5 rating out of 10 compared to twilight that got 5.6 out of 10. and eclipse got a 4.8 out of 10. NEW MOON has the lowest rating. just sayingg.

This comment is for the people that say that Kristen is not gracious to her fans.  I am not basing my opinion only on articles that I have read.  I have seen her interact with fans.   I actually saw Kristen being interviewed by a reporter at Sundance.  This amazed me.  She answered everyone of his questions in a respectful and thoughtful manner. She didn't rush him. When the people running event ushered her to the next reporter, she said that it was nice talking to him, smiled and thanked him.  He turned around and said to the camera "She hated me did you see how nasty she was?" I was floored.  At the Eclipse premiere she had fans that she had seen at the other premieres so she made a point to have tickets for them. You should have seen how excited they were. One of her fans made her a bracelet which she kept on the entire night.  Just as you can bring up negative comments and behavior about her all of us that like her can bring up positive situations.  When you like someone you see the good things, when you don't like someone you only see the bad.

did you know that Jody Foster, kristen's co-star in Panic Room, said that she thought that kristen wasn't going to make it as an actress because kristen told her that she wan't in it for the fame and money? and Jody thought she didn't have the right drive to be an actress because of that. ( not to hate on jody foster or anything, and jody didn't mean any harm from what she said, so people who read's this don't get the wrong idea okay? ) and look where she is now, she is one of the most famous celebs right now and has made a handful of movies and has worked with some of the top respected and A list actors. yeah she chose this profession, i'm sure on some level she did know what she was getting herself into but she never expected it to be at this magnitude. she is very grateful of her fame and for her fans. she loves that she can be a role model for girls, but at the same time she just wants to be like the rest of us too.

essica, she immediately apologized for the use of the work Rape.  Kristen does not take rape lightly.  She has  spoken for support groups and for rape prevention groups.
