How did they make Renesmee??
Theres something bothering me about 'Breaking Dawn'...how does Edward manage to get Bella pregnant...I mean when he became a vamp all his normal bodily functions stopped...no crying...no need for the toliet as his digestion stopped...so how does he manage to firstly get an erection, which by definition involves blood to be pumped to the penis to make it engorged...then how does he have a released of sperm?????... it just perplexes me...I'm very interested to see how this detail sat with the rest of you fanpires....aside from this the books rock i just keep reading them over and over

Well considering the story is fictional, anything goes right? My thought is that...I looked at the same way you are now, but then decided anything is possible.
So, I'm thinking the erection came from the flooded demon within. You remember how he tore up the pillows, there should've have been an issue of venom within all those feathers, I think the venom went elsewhere.
I don't know...When I got to that part in the book, I was like 'Really?' But whatever. I enjoyed all the books, kind of wishing there was more.

good question...... my theory is that he so cold his sperm is frozen. like the way they store it at a clinic. as for the erection..... i dont know lol maybe the blood he drinks is circulating then when i starts to run low, thats when he's thirsty again. think about it if he drinks blood where does it go???

There is a hint of explaination that blood digested by the vampires circulates [in some way] in BD when Bella feeds she feels it to her fingers and toes.
The difference between Bella and the other Cullen women if you think about it is that Bella conceived while she was still mortal - Esme, Rosalie and Alice are already immortal so that door is forever closed for them [hence Rose's bitterness of being a vampire].
You've also got to realise that strange things do happen in our world... like Lobsters have pale blue blood, A shrimp`s heart is in its head. Eels have two hearts - an Octopus has 3, and Turtles can breathe through their butts [good thing The Cullens were vampires and not Turtles - hey!]
The World around us can be strange and magical - is it so hard to put your faith in something that is different from the world you know? Close your eyes and just enjoy the magic carpet ride....

I think the blood was replaced by venom, so venom would have rushed to his nether regions to allow the job to get done. It would really suck to live forever and not be able to get any. LOL As far as the bathroom issue is concerned. I think it has more to do with the fact that his body uses everything in his new diet, so there is no waste which means no need to go to the bathroom. We know that female vampires can have sex with humans too. They just can't get pregnant. But this would require some sort of lubrication besides venom, otherwise they would either change their lovers and/or cause them some extreme pain. So perhaps it works the same for male vampires and they retain their ability to produce sperm and their own natural lubricants. Anyway, that's how I explained it to myself...

okay. so i can't really beleive at at first, but Bella had some explanations on BD about it.(it was when she can't beleive she was pregnant so she made conclusions.)and i agreed with that.
female vampire bodies are different than a female human body. they're stones already, so they're body won't bulge;therefore, there would be no space for the baby to grow.
and Men never stopped producing sperm, unlike females who have menopause. so even if they are old they can make women pregnant. Maybe Edward didn't stop from producing it, so-maybe- that's why she got Bella Pregnant.

Vampires are physically similar enough to their human origins to pass as humans under some circumstances (like cloudy days). There are many basic differences. I think, that male vampires are capable to impregnate women, but the reason they cant get any children are the female vampires, because their heart doesnt beat ...
but how is it possible that male vampires "produce" sperm is a puzzle to me.
about the erection thing ... vampires are hard as ston, right?
so, it could be possible, that their penis is also as hard as their body is, right?
yeah ...
