It irritates the heck out of me when people bash Twilight and Stephanie
Im on Amazon.com thinking on if I were going to buy The Bree Tanner book, but I decieded against it. Becasue I dont like reading books where the main charater dies, but anyways I just happened over a review where this girl was bashing the Twilight series and Stephanie. saying
"As if the first one wasn't bad enough... This is the most ridiculous "vampire" series ever. The only thing Meyers' vampires have in common with traditional vampires is the blood drinking and pale skin. She turned them into super heroes and super villains. And come on... they GLITTER in the sunlight! Even Stephen King called her a mediocre writer at best. And how many adjectives are really needed in a single sentence?! She caters to a bunch of teenagers, in essence teaching young girls that it's okay to be in an abusive relationship with a much older guy... Just what I want my daughter to learn right? I will only allow my children to read them so they have a basis of comparison when it comes to great writing versus sub-par. I feel really bad for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. They're great actors that got roped into garbage roles and will forever be remembered for this nonsensical, overrated, soft-core porn for teens."
That is crazy right, I mean what the heck, you have alot of time on your hands to bash somthing, better yet dont buy and read the book, or watch the movie. That clown just pissed me off. If it so bad than why so many people is buying her book.Just wanted to vent though what are ya'll thoughts.

I am really amazed at how many people feel the need to bash the Twilight series. There are so, so many authors out there, all with varying degrees of writing experience and talent. In addition, each writer excels at, or is weaker in, different areas.
I think the sheer number of people in love with these books shows that Stephenie Meyer created characters that stick with us and make us want to know more about them and their futures.
I write music inspired by Twilight and I get some pretty diverse reactions from people when I tell them. One time I played a song for someone before I told them it was about Twilight and they liked it. I am very sure they would have been braced to dislike it if I told them my inspiration first.

First of all of course Stephen King isn't going to like the twilight series he is a horror writer that what he does best as Stephanie does romance the best. Although I will say Stephen king is an excellent writer Ive always loved his book but at the same time people have to understand that they have to completely different writing style's and different views on top of that and i do not think anyone should bash him for his opinion just as Stephanie shouldn't be bashed either...You don't like the book don't read it, it is as simple as that.
As For the whole vampire story line, Vampire have been changing long before twilight and rather then explain this all again i will just give you a link to my blog on that same exact subject. Please if you would like read it and tell me what you think.

There are people who arent going to like Twilight. They might be angry because the series is so popular and they just dont like it and they dont understand why everyone likes it.
Personally there is nothing wrong with Stephenie Meyer's writing in fact she is awesome she is my role model.
I like the romance aspect of it its great a young couple falling in love and getting married and having a baby its a classic romance. Its better than all of this sex and drugs garbage that is going on in the world.
Stephenie's series is like a simple old fashioned romance story and that is what captures so many readers.
Another thing it is not just aimed at teenagers its aimed at everyone because of the sweetness of the story with some old fashioned themes it is catered to wide age range. Elderly people even like it because it takes them back to their old days.

Thanks Samatha I will check out the site. Everyone here has made some great points. I know that not eveyone would adore Stephaine, and her series but to simply be so condesending and mean, and to simply go out your way to bash somthing. It is silly to me. and again it is very simple dont like it, dont buy it and read it. duh

Honestly I see her point to a very little extent. I disagree with what she said about the message it sends and it being soft porn for teens. LOL. That is straight up BS. As for it being not thebest written; I have to agree. Now believe it or not I am a Huge fan of the books and movies, but on a list of good Vampire books,shows she is on the bottom level. (DEPENDING on how old you are)Try True Blood or Vampire Diaries. They are exceptional show's!

OMG. Those people are nuts. And, most likely wannabe-writers that are jelous because Stephanie is so good, or people that just say they don´t like it to be diferent. I´ve only ever met three people that didn´t like Twilight. They wouldn´t read the books so I made them watch the movie again. Then I made them admit that they loved it. Every one of them went out and bought all the books the next day-and have been addicted to the searies ever since!

I think this is by far ridiculous. I mean, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but seriously...some people are crossing the line. They start out just expressing their opinion, to being extremely rude and obnoxious. Twilight gets bashed more than any other book series ever. These people just do it to get us all fired up because they know we'll get all defensive. Going out of your way to bash something like that is just moronic. The worst bashing I see, are the comments on youtube videos. If people hate Twilight so much...why do they search for videos about it? They need to GROW. UP. Just because they leave an outrageous comment on a video etc. does NOT mean that the Twilight hype will go away. So I say, to the haters, "Build a bridge and get over it."

People who bash the twilight series probley have friends or girlfriends family memebers etc who are obessed with it!! and i think they do not have the intellgince to undersatnd what the twilight world is about and i hate people comparing it to other vamipre films and the vampire diaries and true blood because tbf twilight is on a whole other level compared to these and the dude who plays Damon in the vampire diaries said during an inteview that the only reason their programme got funded was beacuse of the success of twilight!! Twilight stands on its own and i feel sorry for these haters i really do and i agree with Bree Cullen why go on youtube and search twiilight videos if you dont like them it really boogles me!! what a waste of time and effort do they have no life?? and nothing better to do?? At the end of the day twilight is amazing its a beautiful love story and i want people who have not read the books or watched the fims not to judge them before they even understand them!! I truley feel sorry for them they dont understand what they are missing, and we as twifans will always defend the series!! We should pity these haters not get angry with them!! Twilight is amazing!!

Totally agree with you! 1)Don't they have anything better to do with their time? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but come on people. If you don't like it you don't have to read it, watch it, or do anything involved with it. 2) I think a lot of peopl are just haters because of all the succes & how big it has exploded over the last few years. 3) Obviously people like that just need to get a life!
One of the reasons I even gave TW a chance was because it WAS DIFFERENT from your "traditional" vampire stories. I DO NOT like horror stories. SM is a fiction writer & there's nothing that says she can't come up with her own mytholgy, stories, etc.
