Meaning of Diego's message to Bree?
So I just finished reading the short second life of bree tanner and I'm still
having trouble understanding Diego's message to Bree (pg. 110). “Tell
Bree I've got the handshake figured out. I'll show her in four days,
when we meet up.”
What does that mean? Did I miss the explanation in the book? What are your thoughts on this?

Bree & Diego were joking that they have their exclusive "club" & he said that they needed to come up with a private handshake.. Now you have to remember that Riley is conveying the "fake" message to Bree ... I think that Diego thought he could trust Riley & opened up about how he felt for Bree.. therein opening up about their little inside joke about their "club".. then Riley & Victoria killed him. So when Riley tells Bree this.. he has to make her think that Diego is still alive.. hence him saying telling her I will show her (the handshake) in four days.. (when they go to battle) Riley had to make Bree feel like he could be trusted.. when she knew in the core of her.. he was not trustworthy. That is just my POV.

Well this may be obvious as hell and not answer your question but..... remember when they are waiting in the cave and they are talking about how they are going to be like a secret club and then they talk about how they need a secret hand shake? well ya that may answer your question or may not,
Call me crazy but i thought maybe it was a way of him trying to tell her that like he had figured out what the emotions he was feeling ment, like he knew what it ment to love her and what it felt like to love her.

Interesting...I never thought of it as a "'fake' message" before. Looking at it from your point of view makes more sense than how I thought of it.

Earlyer in the book, they organized a "seacret club" a club "BFF" cclub and later they changed it to s ninja club, (u know about that) it was cinda their own personaj joke. and when they organized the club, they still needed a seacret handshake...they never figerd out what the handshake will be like, so Diego just said "I´ll think about it and let u know" so Diego later said to Riley to tell her that “Tell Bree I've got the handshake figured out. I'll show her in four days,when we meet up.” before he died, that is before Riley killed him.

i thought that it ment that he believed in an afterlife and when he realised that Riley was going to kill him he asked him to say that to Bree as if to say ill see u in heaven cause he knew that all the newborns were going to die but thats just my thought on it i dunno if any of u will agree with me or not :) it could just be that riley said it to get Bree to trust him :)

I was also thinking along the same lines as that--about an afterlife and how he knew they were all going to die. But so little was explained after Bree left Diego alone that all we can do is assume. And that's really bugging me. It would have been nice to see where their friendship took them.
