I notice a lot of people are either mentioning "Fix you" or "The Scientist" by Coldplay.. good choice. Coldplay has some pretty good songs that are depressing AND uplifting ... that would fit in New Moon. Not sure if it would ever happen.. but I like those ideas.

a lot of ppl love songs and think theyre cute, thats one thing, but twilight (film) and stephenie meyer dont exactly give off the rhianna, david archuletta, mariah carey type feel. The music in the first film fit perfectly because it wasnt huge pop popular music, it was erie in a way and a little less known. i think all suggestions are nice but i think the artist as well as their songs should be a little different than todays type music, it has to fit the feel of the book. the erieness and emotions it brings, its not just pop lovely like all the music today. Strong instruments are key. Twilight had an amazing soundtrack. i think new moon would be great with a few of these songs:

My Playlist for new moon…
I think the soundtrack should carry more melancholic songs to depict the pain and struggle of love lost, love unrequited. This is in contrast to twilight with more fast songs that best suits the exhilaration and excitement of discovering new love.
I’ve been reading a lot of threads regarding new moon soundtrack and I know that some are debating that the feel of the song is more than important than the lyrics. I agree but in almost every soundtrack there’s always at least that one song that carries lyrics that expresses the essence of that movie. Now here are the list of my favorites that I think best describe new moon and scenes in it:
My top favorites:
1) My immortal- evanescence
I think no other song could have the feel of new moon and so hauntingly describes Bella’s pain than this song.

Whoa. It’s a long post already. I hope that the creator of the soundtrack would read some of the fans suggestion because we mean well for our beloved new moon. Though I love the twilight soundtrack except for Bella’s lullaby, I think that the Yiruma’s River Flows In You ( as suggested by twilight fans) was so much better than Carter Burwell’s version of Bella’s Lullaby.
Well if none of it gets in. Its okay I guess. I just hope that you will enjoy playing this music while revisiting new moon as much as I did.
And no, No Jonas Bro’s please. No. No. No. That will be the death of me.
