Since I'm a devotee to Twilight saga and it was written for 'young adults'. I was wondering if you, my fellow Twi-Thirtysomething peers, have ever wished that Ms Meyer might have written the story in adult version? Wonder if the settings of the story would have been different if all characters would be adults? Edward is already and adult and much older than Charlie. Jacob was described as a 25 year old guy when he first hit wolf puberty?

Well the Sookie Stackhouse books sure do add a little to the adult vampire love thing! I would have loved to read about them as adults...hee hee hee
Even though Twilight saga is about teens, it doesn't really read like a teen story to me. It seems to surpass age and era. I think it will actually be a classic love story as time goes on.
I would like to see the adult version of Twilight that SM wrote for her sister, Forever Dawn, is it?
I agree that they dont seem like teens to me when I am reading it and I dont envision them as teens
I wish she did write it in adult version. The Twilight Saga was for teens, but it took another direction for adults. It would be nice if they didn't just focus on teens only. They all know by now that all of us adults are into the series as well, they need to not just focus on teens but focus on adults as well. But that is just my opinion.
It may be for young teens but it doesn't seem like that to me. I see it as just a romantic story of two people who want to be together.
agree with all of you - this is a timeless love story ... with the exception of Bella's H.S. friends, the kids don't really act like kids - the love shared between Edward & Bella is very adult, maybe due to where Edward is coming from ... he's so drawn to her ...

I know that if SM wrote something else from a Sookie Stackhouse perspective, the story would lose something for me. I love Sookie and Bill and Eric and Pam but that has a much darker theme than Twilight and think the two should remain apart.
I avoided reading Twilight for a long time because it was "young adult". When I finally did read it, I did not think it read like a young adult book at all. It reads like a classic. The story surpasses age and time.

Fanfiction has filled in the gaps and the "fade to black" on the honeymoon for me. If you haven't read any, I recommend it. It's not Stephenie of course, but it does help fill in the blanks in some places.
Totally agree with your below comments, Zhaan - Twilight is timeless and I can't really imagine how any of the feelings would change were this a supposed adult-themed story. I would be truly saddened if it were to morf into a Sookie story - that has its own theme and is anything but "Twilight". Charlene Harris is a gifted writer as all of her Sookie stories reflect but that storyline is totally foreign to where Stephenie was taking Twilight and I am so, so appreciative of that.

Jacob may be 25 physically but mentally he is about 18. Which is not to say that such a thing would ever have me like him less. But the story would be very different. There would be no Charlie, because Bella would be living alone, she would be living outside of Forks because she hated that town since she was little, she would have little to none opportunities to meet Edward daily - it would be a completely different story and the characters would need different catalysts to end up together.
I would love to see an adult version especially of Breaking Dawn. I feel like the storyline the marriage, baby etc could have been written a lot different and more for adults. Don't get me wrong it is my favorite of all of the books however I would have loved it if there was more adult situations, it is like they leaving you hanging on the edge and you have to fill in the obvious blank.
