Anyone start with the Twilight movie....and hate it??
I'm just wondering if I'm the only one of my kind here, lol. :P
I actually saw the movie Twilight before I ever considered reading the books. The first time I watched it, I really did not like it. Okay, I'll admit it - I hated it. I just couldn't get over that these vampires could go outside in the daylight and sparkled! What??
But, I just let it go and didn't even think about Twilight for months. Then, I happened to have one of the Showtime channels on while I was working online and Twilight came on. I found myself actually paying attention, and decided to watch it again from the beginning. I don't know what happened this time around, but I was hooked. This was about the time New Moon was coming out on DVD, so I rented it and I really enjoyed it. I realized I wanted more.
Not long after, I bought the books and read all four within about a week or so. I was blown away by the story - I had a very hard time putting the books down, and now I'm borderline obsessive about the Twilight saga. I own Twilight and New Moon on DVD (and watch them fairly regularly) and caught Eclipse in theaters. I cannot wait for Eclipse to be out on DVD, and now I am dying to see what they'll do with Breaking Dawn - my favorite of the series. :)
So, are there any others like me out there? I'm really curious, as I know many die-hard fans started with the books, and I went a bit backwards - not to mention I really hated the movie the first time around. Anyone else have a similar experience, or am I just one of a kind, lol. XP

most twi-hards did not appreciate the first movie as much as the books. it didn't capture the essence that stephenie meyers brought to the series. however, because we are twi-hards and obsessed, most of us still watch it religiously, because as with anything you are obsessed with, you just can't get enough, no matter what your first impression. welcome to the insanity. we always enjoy new memebers!

In my country, Twilight-books wasn't so popular until the movie was come out. And I didn't hear sth about Twilight phenomenon until then. A few days after movie's premiere, all my schoolmates (girls of course) were talking about someone Edward and Bella. When I asked them who were they, they told me that Edward was a 100+ year-old vampire who fell in love with a human named Bella (they actually told me the whole story, but at this time my conclusion was exactlly this: a dracula who flirted a girl). I was laughing at them because of their obsession with this, it was so rediculous!!! But then i saw some trailers and i realized that Kristen Stewart had the lead-role. I knew her from Panic Room, Zathura, Into the wild, and Speak(specially Speak) and i like her from then. So i decided rent the DVD.
When movie ends, i was sitting on my sofa and i was like: " ... omg...omg...omg...OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8D !!!!!!! "
That was it, i became a Twilight-junky!!!!! I became what i was laughing at..!!!! :) -

I saw Twilight Movie first, I thought it was okay, but I remember someone saying in the audience on certain parts that didn't happen in the book, I saw Twilight December 2008, I did not start reading Twilight until April 2009, and was hooked immediately, and have been eversince, so I've read the books 4 times each including Midnight Sun, yes I'm sure more have read the saga more than me...I'm a mom and work..so sometimes it's hard..But I am obsessessd with Twi, I wear my Twilight Bracelet Team Edward, been wearing this for over a year, I do not plan to take it off anytime soon, also New Moon bracelets...Twilight Saga is not easy to let go of, though other things do go on in one's life...

I Saw The Twilight And New Moon Movies Before I Read The Books. If It Wasnt For My Sister-In-Law. I Would Have Never Even Heard Of The Series. She Came Over One Day Just After Twilight Was Relesed On DVD And Said Have You Seen This, I watched It Once And Was Hooked I Had To See More. I Couldn't Afford The Books (yet) So I Waited... When New Moon Finaily Came Out On DVD I Went And Bought It.... I Still Needed More So I Saved And Bought All Four Books And Read Them All In A Week I Still Cant Get Enough. I Went To See Eclipse In The Theaters, Again And Again, Can't Wait For It To Come Out On DVD So I Can Own It... And I'm Now Dying To See What They Will Do For Breaking Dawn.. I'm Also Dying For Stephine To Finish And Publish Midnight Sun So I Can Read That Too. ( I'm Dreaming That She Will Wright New Moon, Eclipse, And Breaking Dawn From Edwards P.O.V Too, But Somehow I Doubt That Will Happen :( )

I started with the "Twilight" movie just before "New Moon" came out in the theatres. I was just curious to know what the kids were so excited about. Once I saw "New Moon", I just had to read the books. Then, I was hooked! Now I am totally obsessed. Can't stop reading the books or watching the movies. Can't wait for "Midnight Sun" to be finished.

I started with the books, but only recently. I don't think I would have liked Twilight as a movie if I hadn't read the books. I used to say how ugly I thought Rob was when I would see the commercials. If only I had a time machine to go back and punch myself for those ridiculous comments! :D Now I just love all things Twilight!
