I think online relationships have a very good chance of working out--for one thing you don't argue as much and second,you get to know eachother alot better and faster because it's easier to open up

Jealousy can be a big problem.That's why I think you would need to take some time to get to know the person and trust them before you start a serious relationship.Alot of people make the mistake of rushing into it.I did.But never Again.Like I said,it takes atleast a month to really get to know a person.I think it's also a matter of HOW LONG you have to wait before you see eachother.A few months isn't asking much.Now,a few years is pushing it.But,like I said before,I believe in the old saying "Absence makes the heart grow fonder"--the longer you wait to see someone,the more meaningful it is when you do get to see them,so your patience pays off in the end.

there are many things that have to be established before even CONSIDERING a commitment--Such as trust,commitment and HONESTY,and all that comes with TIME.It takes alot of time,which most people are not willing to sacrifice which is WHY most online relationships don't work(thats why my last one didn't) BUT for those willing to make that sacrifice,it could be a decision that could change their lives and for the better.

not EVERYONE is honest. But not EVERYONE is dishonest either.And you cant hide your true self forever. That is why I stressed that it takes PATIENCE,TIME,commitment,HONESTY and TRUST. And I mean trust on both sides--trusting the other person that they will accept the truth about yourself and trust that the other person is truthful about themself. All that takes time. Just because you meet someone face to face does not mean they still cant hide things from you.So that is irrelavent,they can hide things from regardless if they meet you in person or online.Yes,online its easier to be deceptive, but not forever.Thats why patience is key--take time to get to know the person as much as you can before you even think about meeting or committing.In conclusion,I still believe online relationships can work if all these things are considered

uh hi, I don't; I very don't; believed in online relationships b/c well, it's like Degrassi episode (a Tv show)when you don't see a face. The main thing is, you don't know who you talking to. Trust me I use to have a online relationship and we broke up and it wasn't in here. And he was young, nice, guy. But the point is, it might be a older guy (or a freak); acting like a teen; lying to a girl in the web saying "i'm a teen and i'm single," blah, blah, blah I mean, this could let into trouble. Like: getting eachother phone numbers, I mean really; you would hear an old person talking to you. Or some random person... Having e-mail adresses, etc. So, I feel that I wanted to share this speech for the people who had online (or distance) relationship

LOL,well I wouldnt believe everything you hear on a television show either.And I'm not saying that you should get into an online relationship blindly.Be cautious,take a very long time to get to know the person before you commit. People who get into that kind of trouble are those who dont know any better,they dont take the proper precautions.If you are smart,honest about YOURSELF too,and committed,it can work.

ok, thanks for the comment... Well, for T.V shows, (I am a movie person), news you have to believe in. Teen's shows, uh, they show you what you need to learn what NOT to do. And for the record, i'm not into online relationships anymore, I think it's wrong or weird. To tell a friend in a reality that you've met a online guy or girl. They think it might be weird or not; their your friend. I like to meet people everywhere, not just online. In Twifans, there is relationships such as marriage, dating, break ups, singles etc. But, thanks for the rest of the advice

In my opinion; I'd say online relationships could work out since the screen of a monitor can provide a bit more confidance to those whom are shy, allowing them to open up & speak their mind.

I have a say on online relationships now since I've learnt quite a bit by being on this website. So my opinion is I don't believe online relationships can work, but there are a few exceptions. I'll explain why I think online relationships don't work first. First of all, we all have been told you probably don't know the person you're talking to and I believe sometimes this is the case. That's the reason why I've rejected some relationships on the site and even one of them admitted that the way acted wasn't the real them. Second of all, if you do start a relationship online and your so called BF or GF isn't online you just keep complaining about how he or she is not there and it just honestly makes the chat less interesting! Third of all, you don't know if your so called BF or GF are in another online relationship! Yes there is such this as cheating online and I reckon it's more common than cheating in a real relationship. So that's done with my reasons and now I'll go on to exceptions. Soooo....if you know this person in real life then I think it's okay and I think it can help the relationship before you start socialising in real life. Oh wait that's the only exception I have...and three points? Well that's exactly the reason I don't believe in online relationships. Argue to my points if you want, this is just my opinion.

I wont argue with that Glee.I agree with you.Which it why I have posted several time that before you start a long distance/online relationship, make sure you take atleast a few months to get to know them first before you commit to anything. There is a difference between cynical and cautious--cynical is when you dont give it a chance because youve already told yourself it wont work(which,I know that you have tried and it didnt work so thats not you).I have been in an online relationship and that didnt work either. As I have said in previous posts--it takes honestly,commitment,trust and patience.Without all four,it won't workAnyway,thank yyou for your respnse,God bless

The reason some online/lond distance relationship dont work is not simply because its long distance.It doesnt work because there is a lack of trust,commitment,patience and trust between both people involved. And that thoesnt just apply to long distance relationships.It applies to ALL relationships
