When I read this, it almost sounded like it was a lyric from a song. That's how Edward have always been :'D
Oh yeah, and "How?"
When Bella asked him to fight back when he told her that he could be noble. It's not a lovey dovey favorite quote or something. It's just that, I just imagined the pain that he has let out when he was about to give Bella the chance to choose Jacob. It still gets to me every time I read it.
