“Alice!” My adopted brother called down the hallway of the third floor of our house.
“What, Edward?” I felt think tension in her tone and tried to calm her. “GET OFF JASPER!” She yelled.
“Love, what is it?” I asked, what else would work?
“JUST GO AWAY JASPER!” Again, she went above polite volume. I continued to attempt at calming her, all to no avail, her own emotions were too intense. “BELLA! TELL YOUR HUSBAND TO GO AWAY!” She continued shouting, I wouldn’t have been surprised at all if she refused to. Alice was never like this. What had angered her so terribly? “Alice, what’s wrong?” I asked. I was trying to see if I could talk her into being nice.
“I’ll tell you later, I need to talk to Edward, and he knows it.”
“Ok, I will be waiting.”
So I waited.
“Jazz. Let’s talk.”
“I saw the Volturi.”
I inhaled, preparing to gasp but she put her index finger to my mouth.
“They want our help. There is a man in London –the man I saw in Seattle –and he knows that vampires exist. His name is Harris Blight. They want us all to go to London and stop him.”
“Does Carlisle know?”
“Edward told Carlisle the minute he saw me seeing it.”
“Ok. Let’s go.”
She grabbed my arm and, even though I was somewhat stronger than her, I stopped.
“Jazz, we can’t go until they formally invite us to Italy to get a plane to London.”
This confused me. Why would go to Italy when we could just get an 8 hour flight to London?
The Volturi were like that though.
