My name is Abigail Marie, and this is my story.
I was born and raised in New York city by my parents Donna and Ray. When I was eleven they separated, when I was fifteen they were killed in a car wreck. I was devastated! I didn't know if I could go on another day without them. D.F.S placed me in a foster home with a young couple named Carl and Jaqui. They raised me from fifteen to nineteen, after which I left New York.
So...when I moved across the country to live with my best friend Angie, I thought my life could be normal again; I was wrong. Ignorantly I was headed in a direction that was everything but normal. Little did I know, however, that out of all my loneliness would come the most powerful knowledge I'd ever have. Since the day of my birth, something had been concealed inside me that wasn't meant for anyone outside my family to know of; not even my friends.
"It's no wonder he'd tried to turn me. He thinks I'm her, because I do look just like her." I said warily, staring at my great great grandmother's painted portrait.
"Which is why it's so vital that you stay close to us Abigail, because he's not going to stop, no matter how well we train you." Rob cautioned, tension swelling in his eyes.
Through the last two centuries of our line, my family had carried this secret legacy with them. Now because of Marcus, it'd been passed on to me. I called it a gift; others however called it a curse; one that came with a dangerously high price. This knowledge would eventually and inevitably change my life....forever!
