In the dark world that leaks water and is dead

thers a girl.

 

She sits and waits

for the crack of sunlight to shine through the clouds, and the door to freedom to open.

 

All around her are dead trees,

cold floor tiles that are cracked,

the marble bench.

Rain soaks everything around her.

 

Her parents reach out for her.
