My daughter, who is now 13, came to me and asked me if I would buy her this book. She said that since she was in the 6th grade, the librarian wouldn't let her read it, that it was not "age-appropriate." I looked it up and found out the author writes books for tweens and teens and went ahead and bought it for her since all of her friends were reading it. She didn't start to read it until about the middle of the year. She drug her feet on it and finally finished it over last summer so I bought her the second book. Around the end of July, one of my friends started the series and finished the first 3 books in a weekend and told me I had to read it. I went ahead and started it and that's all it took. I finished the first book in 24 hours and then started on the second book. I finished the second book in a couple of days and ordered the 3rd book. Finshed that one and then had to wait on the 4th book. When it was finally released, I ordered it and finished it. All in all the 4 books took me a total of 7 about days to read. It was amazing. I loved the entire story. So my daughter saw that I was reading it and felt the need to finish it too. She earned about 30 AR points at the beginning of the year because she read all 4 books too. Her and I went and saw the movie on a "girls day." We both thought it was great! I would love for them to make a movie out of the other books.
Here is a pic of us on our day out! It was a lot of fun hanging out with my daughter doing something we both enjoyed!
