Jesse fell in love with the Vampire Lestat, and same way with Lestat. But the only way they could be together is for Jesse to be a vampire too... which is something Jesse asks for, she really wants it. But Lestat doesn't want her to be because he knows that it is not really fun to be a vampire, it is a lonely life. So he shows her. Then once Lestat joins with Akasha, Akasha tells Lestat to kill Jesse to show his love towards Akasha. Then once the vampires, including Lestat, turn on Akasha and she dies... Lestat turns Jesse into a vampire and they are together forever.
