Edward Cullen is...ugly?

Yes, yes, we all know that Edward Cullen is described as 'dazzling', 'beautiful' and 'god-like'. But two of my Twihater/Twiscroge friends, seem to think that Edward Cullen is 'ugly'. Frequently, I have heard, "The state of Edward Cullen..." , from both of them.
