I attended the Water For Elephants Red Carpet Premier on 6th May in Sydney.  I was very lucky and won a competition.  Besides some other lovely things, the prize included walking the red carpet and watching the movie.  And yes, of course, I got to see Robert and Reese! Rob is even more gorgeous in person...yes, I was this close on the red carpet, but didn't get good pics as we kept getting pushed along by some very aggressive security staff.  Anyway, it was wonderful…

You tell me?  Did the casting directors use Robert's father as a gauge on what actor to choose to play the older Jacob Jankowski (Robert)?  Hal Holbrook is a famous actor and it makes sense even if he and Richard Pattinson didn't favor each other.  But you have to wonder if it was only because of his acting proweress that he was chosen.
