The gals over at TwilightNovice
are starting a "What Would Carlise Do" Discussion. This is designed to be a regular feature at Novel Novice Twilight, when we ask how Carlisle -- as the patriarch of the Cullen family -- would tackle certain situations, both in and out of the Twilight world. For example, how might he guide Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as they manage their explosion of fame? How would he advise Summit Entertainment in their selection of a director for Breaking Dawn? What would he say to a high school senior trying to determine their future?
This week the Carlisle question is:
We’re kicking off the first installment of What Would Carlisle Do? with a rather heavy subject, but we are very much looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the matter.
Last November, voters in the state of Washington approved Initiative 1000 - a measure based on Oregon’s Death With Dignity Law which allows terminally ill, but mentally sound, patients (with six months or less to live) to seek out a lethal dose of prescription drugs so they can end their life.
Some call it doctor-assisted suicide, but the medication must be self-administered. This being said, doctors as well as hospitals are not required to provide prescriptions of lethal dosages - they can individually choose whether or not they want to participate in this initiative.
