Charlaine Harris wrote the Sookie Stackhouse series years before Twilight was written. I think there's room for all these mythical creatures in our world. Its all a matter of opinion. I like my vampires to kill people and drink blood personally, and I just love how the weres in True Blood growl when they get mad, so awesome. But I love the backstories on the Cullens and the native american culture in Twilight too. I like that us fiction fans have lots to choose from in this genre.

I'm so addicted to True Blood! it's freakin' awesome! I can't wait to watch a new episode every sunday=) And that doesn't mean Twilight is worse, absolutely not! Twilight is increidibly beautiful<3 you can love both them with no problem:D

@Linda Miller - Thank you for correcting Marisa! There's no way True Blood could be a rip off of Twilight (if anything, it's the other way around). Like you said, the Sookie Stackhouse series was written years before the Twilight series. And as much as I love Twilight, True Blood is SO superior in so many ways. For one thing, the vampires are how they're supposed to be: they can't go out in the sunlight, they have fangs, they feed on humans mercilessly, etc. True Blood is dirty and bloody and scary. The acting is far better also. And, unlike Stephenie Meyer's Mormon approach to sex, True Blood is sweaty and sexy and explicit and AMAZING! They are certainly not afraid to push the envelope and I love that!
Oh and you are sooooo right!!! Jacob who?? Alcide IS the werewolf!!! Damn that man (emphasis on man cuz Taylor is still just a little boy...lol) who plays him in the show is so incredibly sexy! That's what werewolves are supposed to look like! Whew!
-- I should point out that the Sookie Stackhouse novels/True Blood are of course targeted towards an older demographic. I realize that the Twilight series is for tweens. I just wish the Meyer wasn't so timid about sex. She's such a tease with all her abstinence till marriage crap. That's why I call Twilight "Mormon Porn." Hahahahaha --

Oh and here's a couple pics of the yummy Alcide to prove to all you doubters that he IS the werewolf. Suck it Taylor! Lol.
