WhatsPlaying.com reports:

"Consider this nothing more than a rumour - if only because our source, though seemingly on the level and able to provide sufficient information to pass the BS detector, is a first-time scooper - but alas, it’s too good not to print, so we are, but with that disclaimer. And, quite frankly, there’s no real reason why this wouldn’t be true.

According to the tipster, who works in licensing, Stephenie Meyer’s book The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner - released in March - is headed to the big screen. Tanner, of course, is a character that popped up ever-so-briefly in this year’s The Twilight Saga : Eclipse.

Tanner is the newborn that surrenders to Carlisle and is killed by Jane at the end of the book.

“It goes without saying Summit want to continue this franchise… Tanner is the one they’re looking at post-Breaking Dawn”, we were told in an email.

Pushing for more information, our tipster said “It’s too early to talk casting, and everything we’re hearing is just speculation or off a wish list, but I don’t believe they plan on using the original actress,Jodelle Ferland, for the spin-off film. It’s all about numbers and names - you guys know that.”

We asked which names they were hearing and had an email sent back, a couple of hours later, with : “Chloe Moretz. Elle Fanning.”

Both those names come as no surprise - Moretz (Kick-Ass, Let Me In) is the go-to girl for most young female roles in recent months, while Fanning is not only the sister of a Twilight cast member but carries that famous surname.

More if and when we hear it."

What do you think Twifans, is this just a *rumor* or maybe a possible *fact*... if it is true, would you go see the movie?

EDIT: TWILIGHT LEXICON GOT WORD FROM SUMMIT THAT THIS IS ALL *SPECULATION AT THE MOMENT*...TAKE THAT FOR WHAT IT IS WORTH...

Bad idea if they dont plan on using the original actors...i.e. Xavier Samuel, Jodelle Ferland.

Why not a movie on Riley, he had way more to do with the story..that's just my opinion...

I'm not a fan of Jodelle as Bree because I had a clear picture of who I wanted as her in my head so if this is truth, I wouldn't mind new actors. But I don't think this is actually happening.

i think if they made the movie they should use the orginal actors

I agree with Jenny - if they make Bree Tanner into a movie - they should use the original actors - Jodelle Ferland, Xavier Samuel and Bryce Dallas Howard (or Rachelle Lefevre). Jodelle fits the books description young and too tiny for Victoria to make a meal of. Elle Fanning is too tall and Chloe Moretz doesn't display the vulnerability that Jodelle has. Lastly, I think the book would make a great film, plenty of action and some of the romance we love. So, please Stephenie and Wyck, get a move on this one.

I vote YES. Although without the original actors, it'll suck bad :/
