A "little" detail I just noticed about The Twilight Saga... English accent!
Well, I don't really know if anyone had noticed the detail but i just realized. I've never read anything that mentions it... Ok here is my big doubt.......... Shouldn't Carlisle speak with an English accent??? He is from London, England after all !!!!!!!!!!!
I know people from US love the accent and even me that i don't particularly live in the US. I am from Puerto Rico and I've loved the accent since The Parents Trap by Lindsay Lohan (don't judge me, she was better in those years) and obviously Harry Potter. I read everyday, comments regarding the love for Rob's accent and it clicked me that Carlisle indeed was an English man, so, definetely we could have had an english accent on Twilight!!!
if anyone have read anything concerning to this doubt of mine please feel free to tell me!!!

Carlisle Cullen was born in 1640’s and was the son of an Anglican pastor in London, England during a time of religious upheaval. His father and other pastors would hunt down creatures such as witches, werewolves, and vampires, and often mistook humans for them. As his father aged, Carlisle was put in charge. One night, he was attacked by a vampire and left to die on the streets. Knowing he would not be accepted by society, he hid himself and silently went through the painful transformation, emerging as a vampire. Horrified, he tried various methods of killing himself, but nothing worked. One night, he could endure hunger no longer and fed on a group of passing deer. Subsequently realizing that he did not have to live off humans, he set out to perfect his resistance to blood lust and become a doctor. For a short time, Carlisle lived with the Volturi, though he eventually left and traveled to the New World.

He lost his accent as Jasper did most of his (he still has a Southern drawl, though). Sometimes during the films, you can catch a bit of Carlisle's accent, but you need to listen carefully.

I agree with Vicky he has had plenty of time to lose his accent. If you want an English fix, Edward will sometimes fall into an English accent.

Like the ladies above stated, Peter Facinelli said "Though he recognized that Carlisle might have had an English accent, he did not use one when filming Twilight because he thinks Carlisle would have adapted to his surroundings and dropped the accent to avoid attention."

All through Eclipse I was wondering why the hell Carlisle sounded British, I forgot he was born there!
