A look at Bella & Edward's body doubles on the Isle Esme Breaking Dawn set...I see pillows again!

Marking a scene is when the doubles (unit 2) are essentially rehearsing in the areas where the real actors will be shooting. This is done for lighting and camera angles. This way when the real actors on the set they aren't wasting anytime.

PS I see more pillows!

Elle pointed out the Chess game between faux Edward and Bella. Symbolism anyone????

They are used (in the same clothes usually) to block the scene with the cameras and test lighting, etc. I've even seen them use stand-ins for close-ups of non-facial body parts (e.g.: hands, feet, etc.) I've seen them play the other part when a primary actor is not in the shot (e.g.: if they are shooting Bella's side of the conversation, Rob's double might be off camera doing Rob's lines.) The stand-ins are usually the same height/weight/color of the actors and are on set when the actors are not. A double is someone who is more like the actor, usually same hair (even if they have to die or cut it) etc who is actually IN a shot (like a stunt). I saw a double for Arnold Schwartzenegger once and they even had a moulded chin on the guy so he looked more like Arnold. Hopefully that clears it up for you.

Comment by Sab MArquez on November 12, 2010 at 8:10pm: I don't think they will use edward and bella's body double, because, first, the sex scene will shoot very upclose, very focus on the actors face, body movements and actors emotions to make it realistic so I'm Sure enough that Bill Condon will demand Robert and Kristen to do the sex scenes. Doubles are designed to use if the scenes need to shoot far enough not too obvious that they are not the real actors, and when the scenes are to risky for the artist.
