Some of us were chatting and began to mention some other vampire series that we've read or are reading, so I started thinking...this might be a good place to share what else we're reading!!

House of Night series. And I agree with Stephenie, the Blue Bloods series are very good too. Another vampire series that are amazing is Cirque Du Freak by Darren Shan. There's a movie in the making for these.

Blue Bloods is pretty good, kinda like Gossip Girl if everyone were a vampire...I just finished "Shade" by John B. Olson - I got it from the library and didn't even realize it was a book about vampires (more specifically vampire hunters) until I was halfway through lol - it's kind of heavy on biblical references but still a pretty good, light read :)

I wanted to see Let the Right One In! People kept saying it was better then Twilight - blasphemous, lol ;)

Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris (as in the series True Blood is based on), the Vampire Diaries is young but pretty decent, any Anne Rice vampire books especially the Vampire Chronicles and Pandora, and i enjoyed the House of Night series also.

The Mortal Instruments Trilogy is really good. Not TECHINCALLY about vampires, but it has them in it. About a girl, Clary who finds out through certain circumstances that happen that she is a Shadowhunter. Meant to keep creatures of "hell" where they belong. It's a really good read. Romance too.

Someone highly recommended the series by Charlaine Harris. I purchased the first book, Dead Until Dark, but have yet to start reading. Like Nev mentioned, the HBO series True Blood is based on Harris' books.

Interview with the Vampire of course!! By Anne Rice. The whole Vampire Chronicles series is awesome. And when you finish with all those (there's a bunch), don't fret! Most of her books' characters and plots intertwine with one-another :]

There's alot of Japaneese manga that have vampires in it, Vampire Doll for example. I'm not a real vampire fan, Twilight is really my only exception.

I've read the Blue Bloods series as well and of course all of the Ann Rice stuff. I'll check some of these other recommendations out! Thanks for posting!

My husband read 30 Days of Night and somehow got me to watch the movie (not really my type). I spent the whole time telling him "That's not how it works", "They don't look like that", etc. Twilight vampires have completely taken over!
