Breaking Dawn Premiere... do I go? HALP!

Okay, I'm going to sound completely insane here, but I need advice as to whether or not to attend the world premiere of Breaking dawn, and attend the after party. I know this sounds totally given, and I should be smacked over the head for even having to consider it... but some things that need to be thought over:

1. Going to this would put me in SERIOUS debt. I work a minimum wage job, I pay for rent and all my bills - barely getting by, and usually I don't have much spare cash at the end of each month, when I do. I have a chance to go, but it will cost me roughly 3000, just for me, then I have to find someone ELSE crazy enough to spend that kind of money, because I am way to terrified to go by myself.

2. As much as I would be on cloud a million to be in the same room as Rob, Kristen and the rest of the Twilight Saga cast, just watching them longingly from the other side of the room isn't enough (for the kind of money I would need to spend), and from what I've heard.. the odds of meeting Kristen or Rob at the after party is slim to none. At the Eclipse, they (and this is just what I heard), were blocked off at a VIP section which my tickets wouldn't give me access to. I'd rather just put my cash towards conventions and stuff if this is the case.

3. I don't have any twihard friends, save online sites like this, and I've never travelled or anything, so I don't really have anyone to go with.

I'm wondering, for those of you who attended the Eclipse premiere, or even the red carpet... which of the actors are "accessible". I'm not expecting to have a huge meet and greet with everyone, but a few autographs and photos.

Any sort of advice would be really and greatly appreciated. I have to send in my name (and the name of whoever is coming with me... anyone up for it???) by October.

It sounds like your main problem is finical babes. I m sure you wouldn't have a problem finding someone as mad as you to go!!! It would be an awesome experience for you and by no doubt you would enjoy yourself immensely, but it is up to you about the money. Hope you do whats right for you. :)

Hey Kristi, looks like your main problem is money. Where are you going to be flying out from? I plan on camping out for the red carpet for Breaking Dawn, will be my first time. I live in Las Vegas and I hear from all my friends who come and visit me is that it is cheap to travel by plane to Vegas from virtually anywhere in the states. You should check if it's cheaper to fly out to Vegas instead of LA and if it is economical then you should book a flight to Vegas and I can drive you to the premiere. It's only a 4 hr. drive. As for hotel rooms, I have several contacts in the hospitality industry who provide me with extremely affordable rates for great hotels.I'm sure I can book 2 rooms at an incredible rate as long as I provide them with sufficient lead time. Let me know if you're interested.

It's not so much that money is a problem, it's just that I'd only be able to smoothly afford EITHER the Premiere, or a couple of conventions. Conventions guarantee meet and greets and photo ops, so I'm just trying to guage whether or not the premiere is worth sacrificing everything else :)

My package would include hotel, transportation to and from the airport, tickets into the premiere as well as vip after party passes. My big thing is that I heard a lot of them were sectioned off and unreachable at the after party. It isn't worth shelling out the cash, if I can't get some photos and autos from a few of them.

So the choice you have is to either attend the premiere and after party or the conventions. If I were you I would go to the premiere and the after party. Yes your chances of getting a photo op with the Twi Trinity are slim but it is worth the gamble. Even if you don't get the opportunity to get autographs or photo ops with the cast you will still get the opportunity to experience a Twi Saga Premiere and get to see the movie before everyone else. I have been to several premieres and award show red carpets and parties and let me tell you that I always thought that I would not get to have a pic or autograph but I was wrong every time cuz I did get them. It is choatic compared to a convention which is organized but like I said it is worth it.

Just out of curiosity, how are you able to get tickets to the premiere and after party for Breaking Dawn this early?

That's what I was looking for, thanks :)

I've recently aquired a contact of summit's, who always attends these events. He kind of forwarned me of what to expect and what not to expect. He won't have the tickets for quite awhile, but he is guaranteed I think 4 of them total, including two for himself, and he's offering the other two to me. I think if I go, I would probably camp out on the red carpet too... just for the full experience. The Twilight cast don't really tour canada much, so I don't doubt that it would totally be worth it, I think I just want a realistic idea of what to expect, just to ensure there is no dissapointment at all. I think my BIGGEST fear is the travel aspect of it. I haven't really been far from home before, and tend to get really nervous at the prospect of going all the way to LA.

Kristi, I know that traveling alone to a far place is daunting but it I can tell you from experience that it is worth it. I travel a lot internationally and then I started to travel by myself once I turned 18. I was scared to travel to several European countries that I have never visited alone but I did it and I realized that I am a strong independent person and I think you are to. I met so many amazing individuals along my way traveling to different countries and it was the best experience of my life. It's strange how we tend to develop long term friendships with people we meet during memorable events/experiences because I still keep in contact with all the people I met even though I only physically knew them for a matter of days.

Beside, like I mentioned before, even if you don't get to meet any of the cast members, the experience of actually camping out at the premiere, developing bonds with other Twi Fans, and attending the red carpet and after party will make the entire trip worth it. It's one of those experiences that you can share with people because it will stay in your memories forever. In the future you can tell people how you traveled to a different country by yourself to camp out several days just for the opportunity to catch a glimpse of your favorite stars.

Overall, don't let your fear stop you from doing things.Conquer your fear and you will see the amazing things that will happen when you take on challenges. Just remember to seize the moment and make each moment count.

I have gone to the premiers. Gotten pics with most of the "Cullen" including Rob and Peter. Also most of the wolfpack. Look me up on Facebook. I made a group for those who either are going to The Breaking Dawn premier or at least might go. You can find me by email
