Dear Bill Condon~
This is important! Do you have any CGI budget left? I hope so. We kid, we kid.
I know it's late in post production, but it's not too late to fix something my husband, who is a non-Twilight fan, pointed out to me with only one viewing of the 'Breaking Dawn - Part 1' trailer on the big screen, . My husband says, "Why is Jacob's wedding invite laminated?"
My response, *crickets*. I have noticed the laminating but didn't think anything of it. HE IS RIGHT! And not only is Jacob's invite laminated badly, but you can tell that everyone else's invite isn't.
See the Voluri or "Resident" and the parent's invites are all regular paper.
There is still time to CGI a non-laminated invite Bill! It just looks cheesey. And we don't need anything more for Twilight haters to go on about.
Jacob's invite should have been dirty on the back, since Jacob threw it in the mud. The ink might not be running because Alice Cullen didn't print this at Officemax and it's probably printed embossed high-quality raised ink, but the paper should be wet in places. Water on card stock does not bead up. Plus you can clearly see the clear film...GAH.
I am sure that there must be a perfectly reasonable movie reason for laminating this, but if my husband can point this with a fast glimpse, all the TwiFans that drag non-TwiFans to our favorite love story, will too.
Will you please explain what happened?
If I wasn't so excited and fast forwarding to this:
I probably would have noticed the wedding invite. My bad. I should have brought this up months ago. Or even during our talk of sparkles at the Summit Entertainment Comic-Con after-party (I will tell all the rest of you about this soon...mostly fangirling like Kim and I did to David Slade). I am so sorry. Call the CGI people pronto. Pretty please.
To get a laugh over this little *cough* mistake, Bill. My husband thinks it's cause "the dog drools."
Sincerely,
Alison from TwiFans.com

Comment by Margie Williams on August 4, 2011 at 9:01pm I’m sorry but I don't think it is laminated at all. It looks to me like a pale blue gray boarder to match the design above Bella's name. To me it is not a visible edge of clear lamination that didn’t get trimmed. The thing Aro is holding is not an invitation. If you notice, what he is opening is much smaller then the invitation. I think he is opening a letter, not an invitation. There is no blue edge on what he is pulling out of the envelope, and the design above Bella’s name is not there either. So it is not an invitation. As for the ones Bella’s parents are holding, you can only see them from the back. The blue boarder is only printed on the front of the invitation.
Also exceptionally high quality paper has a finish on it that would make it harder to get it wet. It's not the sort of paper you can buy at Staples in the stationary section. It would take longer for the water to soak in. I can’t explain the no mud on the back, other then they didn’t like the way it looked. And for me, as long as they get the Honeymoon right I don’t care if the invitation is written in purple crayon.

Comment by Desireé Fox Naude on August 4, 2011 at 11:26pm I did see it, but was trying to read it not really caring that it was different... I think we will have to wait for Bill to let us know why... But it was properly because of the rain...
