You know, I said this on eclipsemovie.org, but I'll re-post it here, too.

Wow. Ya know, prop 8 was, first of all, a standing up for what our government shouldn't be sticking their noses into in the first place by trying to re-define it. We already know what it means. Thanks. And two, the concept of true marriage is a Judeo-Christian thing. It represents Christ and the Church. That's its TRUE meaning and honestly, if you believe that marriage is anything else, you need to wake up because it's sacred. And most people today treat the wedding day like the most important thing as opposed to their marriage, so when the "romance" wears off and they get tired of each other, they find some way to divorce, like it didn't mean anything in the long run, which half the time, to most people, it doesn't. I'm not saying that Christians do things perfect (of course not, we're all sinners, duh) but we shouldn't have to be forced into recognizing something that in God's eyes isn't right. That being said, I am NOT a hater (in fact some good friends of mine are gay-I hate the sin NOT the person; you can love someone without agreeing with their life choices) but the state shouldn't have a right to FORCE my belief system on anyone else, and vice versa. And I don't like them taking Christian values and twisting them because a few people are winning that they can't get "married".

Oh, and side note: Why do they feel they have to be recognized by the state? Why not get some pastor somewhere to marry them? See what I mean? Is it really about expressing their love, or about shoving their views down everyone else's throat and FORCING a pastor to marry them when it goes against that pastor's beliefs? Something to think on.

Ok, rant over. LOL Sorry Christian. I just don't agree with you.

Andrew'sAmy- You have every right to your opinion. It's lovely that you take marriage as a serious, spiritual commitment. However, it's not about "gay" rights. It's about human rights. Why shouldn't gays be allowed to have their marriage recogized by the state? There is supposed to be a seperation of church and state. We don't ask straight couples why they're getting married. It doesn't matter whether or not you agree with their lifestyle. It should be their right.

Good for you Christian! It's a wonderful cause and she looks fantastic!

I totally agree wit Stephanie Leigh! It’s a human rights issue here, and there is a total separation from Church and State in Government. You can have a religious spiritual marriage that isn’t declared marriage by the state, then why can’t it be vice versa? I think that there should be a way to separate them, so that gays can have a marriage recognised by the state and not the Church, probably by the civil union. Andrew's Amy, I respect that you told everyone your opinion, however I totally disagree.

i agree w/ melz and stephanie. also, it is important that the government recognize gay marriage, becuase when one of the partners passes on, the other one should receive the benefits of the marriage, like when a man and a woman are married! it should be made right! they deserve to be heard and recognized just like any other person in this country. it's like when people of a different color weren't recognized. everyone deserves to be treated fairly and the same!!!!
