I would walk a mile in tight shoes to see Depp do anything, but he has a quality that can detract from certain movies, as I think he would in the Twilight series...he consumes the energy and focus in the scene. He would be the dominant, the star, in any scene. The Twilight series seems to me to be definitely an ensemble approach.

Think about it...has there been any movie scene you've watched, that had Depp in it, where he was not the total overwhelming focus of the scene? Even if he wasn't supposed to be?

Ya! Depp would rock as Aro. But he can't ever be in the same movie as Dakota Fanning, who is playing Jane. He said so on Access Hollywood. I quote, "Dakota totally takes the stage. She thinks it's all about her!".

I think the comment about Fanning may have been for the media's sake, something for them to print.

Depp is extremely competitive.

The other actor I wouldn't want to see in the Twilight series is Robert Downey Junior. He can REALLY suck up the energy from anyone else in the scene.
