Now that Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment have officially completed their ..., there is a possibility that we could see trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 with The Hunger Games in March ??
The Hunger Games Examiner has a great article discussing this possibility and why it’s such a good idea:-
But this new partnership also paves the way for the possibility of a trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 to hit theaters with The Hunger Games in March. True, there is some hatred between the fans (for no good reason, really) -- but there is also a lot of crossover appeal among the young adult audience. And now that Lionsgate and Summit have merged, it only makes sense to cross-promote their biggest franchises.
Of course, March would be extremely early to see a trailer forBreaking Dawn - Part 2. Last year, the first teaser-trailer forBreaking Dawn - Part 1 debuted in June at the MTV Movie Awards, with a full-length trailer following in September.
However, filming for Breaking Dawn - Part 2 has been completed for much longer -- with the two movies being filmed consecutively. There were even rumors that the first teaser would debut at the People's Choice Awards earlier this month (which obviously proved to be false).
While Summit may want to hold out for a big venue like the MTV Movie Awards, the new partnership with Lionsgate offers a unique opportunity to market The Hunger Games movie to fans of the Twilight Saga who might not have discovered the series (and maybe convince some bitter Hunger Games fans to give the Twilight Saga a chance).
Likewise, even before the Lionsgate-Summit merger became official, The Hunger Games trailer was shown with many screenings of Breaking Dawn - Part 1 when it came out last November.
The Hunger Games hits theaters on March 23rd. Breaking Dawn - Part 2 comes out in November.
What are your thoughts on when the Breaking Dawn - Part 2trailer will debut? Would you be excited to see it paired withThe Hunger Games?

Comment by Elena on January 25, 2012 at 12:10pm I love reading. I have read both seriers and I love the idea that literature and reading as an institution can be promoted by stories like twilight, harry potter and hunger games. The idea that there has to be competition between them is absurd. The reality is that by promoting one you promote the other. This makes it more likely that authors will spend the time to write the books and that movie studios will spend the time to make them into movies the readers of the story would enjoy.
