Since word broke that Dakota Fanning was in talks to play Jane -- the petite blonde member of the deadly Volturi with a Botticelli angel-like face and crimson irises, in "Twilight" sequel, "New Moon" -- everyone with a stake in the franchise has been chomping at the bit to know if the 14 year old would sign on the dotted line.
V-magazine-cover.jpgWhether coincidentally or intentionally planned, DakFan is currently out promoting her new movie, "Push," so it's been real easy to get a comment from her on the subject. "I really hope it works out," she told Hitfix.com. "It would be a really fantastic experience, I'm sure," she added making her already a million times better at dealing with the press than Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart.
The move would also give the sequel some serious acting clout, since Dakota is considered the most talented actress of her generation, and was just chosen as one of 2008's Scene Stealers by V Magazine.
In the issue -- on stands now -- Dakota says, "Acting is definitely what I want to do for the rest of my life." So signing on to a major franchise like "Twilight" would be a fantastic move for the actress, who really only has a mega-hit on her resume -- 2005's "War of the Worlds."
