Daniel Radcliffe Compares His HP Fame to Robert Pattinson's TW Fame
While promoting The Deathly Hallows Part 1 Daniel Radcliffe spoke to HitFlix and compared the fame he has recieved playing Harry Potter to that of Rob's fame playing Edward Cullen.
"Radcliffe says he always realizes that "whoever had been cast as Harry would have been receiving [all this] attention. It's not you."
"Radcliffe offered up an interesting comparison surrounding another fanatic franchise, "The Twilight Saga." A series that just happens to star "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire's" Robert Pattinson. It turns out Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the first film, visited the "Deathly Hallows" set and cemented the actor's theory on how it's Potter who is adored, not Radcliffe.
"We had a really interesting conversation and I was asking, 'How is Rob doing?' And all that and she was saying before Robert had even been cast she went to a reading of the book with Stephanie Meyer," Radcliffe recalls. "And when Meyer said the name, 'Edward Cullen,' the audience went nuts and were screaming and people were so obsessed with that character. So, whoever was going to step into that role was going to have a pretty crazy life for the next few years and I think it's the same with Harry. It doesn't really matter in a way who it is. If you are filling those shoes you are going to get a pretty wild reception."

How funny that Daniel would have met Catherine & had a conversation with her.
Rob has often said the only reasons fans love him is because he is playing the wonderful Edward Cullen. I don't know about you guys but his role as Edward is just what really introduced me to Rob. The more I know about him, read & see him in interviews & hear his music the more I love him.

Daniel is correct in saying that both Rob and him shot to fame because of the characters they play but if Daniel wasn't Harry and Robert wasn't Edward I really believe that may be some how Rob would have managed to achieve the same success without being Edward but for Daniel ummm I don't think that was possible. He needed Harry Potter. I am not biased towards Twilight or any thing I mean Harry Potter is as big as Twilight and we all know that. But between Rob and Daniel I think Rob holds the more powerful position. He has the thing in him to make it big. :D

I noticed Robert in the HP movie and wondered who the heck is that ! ? He kinda stood out a bit. When I saw him as Edward I was smitten forever as a fan. I love his "relationship" with Kristen and I hope it is real.
I think Daniel will always be part of HP, as will Robert be part of Twilight Saga..both will go on to be great actors regardless. I will watch all their movies,Kristen included!
