David Slade Sends Email to Clear the Air with all the Twilight Fans

“Dear Laura and Lori
I would be grateful if you could distribute this statement to the fans of Twilight:I would like to address some statements that I made regarding Twilight.
When I made these comments, I had neither seen the film nor read the books. I was promoting a comedy short film that I had made for Xbox and every pop culture subject was seen as a possible comedy target. I was being silly and none of the statements were from the heart.
Of course, I have since seen the movie and read the books and was quickly consumed with the rich storytelling and the beautifully honest characters that Stephenie Meyer created.
I would like to reassure everyone involved that I am invested in making the best film that I am humanly capable of, and that I am acutely aware of the power of the original books we serve.
Please be rest assured this statement is absolutely from the heart.

Yeah I agree with Frances. angry Twi-hards is the least he needs. I dont thing this comes "from the heart". After I heard what he had said, I've just been waiting for the apology and this is just what I expected. But I guess I'll give him a chance but if he screws up again, he will definitely not be in my good books....

I agree with Frances, he just looks like an arrogant jerk, and i don't like his movies anyways so it's no skin off my nose (wow i can't believe i just said thet) if Summit decides to chuck him, which i hope they do.

Another vote for Frances. I don't know if he is arrogant or whatever, but he sure doesn't seem like a good choice for a movie based on the Twilight series. He's too "Smoky and the Bandit" for me. I won't be surprised if we see Bella with a southern twang and wering Daisy Dukes.

Its a toughy there...I mean... I always thought he would be cool for directing Eclipse... but.... maybe he WILL make Eclipse as awesome as he imagines it can be... so lets just HOPE he's being truthful

OMG how disgusting! I don't believe him, coz he's liar! And he's trying to calm down twi-fans (as Frances have said) but it's impossible. He have said those words about Twilight and I'm asking myself HOW Summit could confirm him???!!!
