Demi Lovato Fans Rage Against Joe Jonas & Ashley Greene

It's hard to tell what's stronger in the aftermath of Demi Lovato's rehab announcement -- the surge of support for the Disney Channel starlet or the backlash against her ex Joe Jonas and his new girlfriend, Twilight actress Ashley Greene.

It remains unclear whether Joe and Ashley's relationship had anything to do with the "emotional and physical issues" that led to Demi's decision to depart the South American tour and head to rehab. Even so, fans have taken to Twitter, Facebook and popular fansites to express their love for Demi -- and love lost for Joe and Ashley, who have yet to comment on Demi's departure and who were spotted together at a recent tour stop in Ecuador.

In the midst of supportive Twitter hastags like '#staystrongdemi' and '#prayfordemi,' there are blows from Demi supporters on Twitter like @WeLoveLovato. The user said it plainly to her more than 90,000 followers, tweeting: "I seriously hate you. @AshleyMGreene."

Joe, being a best friend to demi, dated or "played" with her, dumbed her, forgot about her, dating Ashley. Thank you @JoeJonas.

The resentment was echoed by another user, @WeGotDemisBack, who said: @JoeJonas "You officially lost my love & respect."

The angry messages are too many to list here, but fans also targeted Ashley for her tweet from backstage at the JoBros concert Monday night, saying, "Ecuador rocks!"

Hey @AshleyMGreene? You have a lot of nerve to post on twitter acting as if nothing is happening. You're the reason for Demi's breakdown, we all know that. Emotional abuse from you, and your friends. You are lower than a snake on the ground.

Though plenty of fans are railing against Joe and Ashley, the overwhelming message on the web today is one of support and prayers for Sonny With a Chance star Demi.

Jill Kohl Jones, the mom of a Demi fan, wrote on Demi's official website: "Proud of you that you were wise enought to get help. You have alot of responsibilities for being so young. You are sooo talented, I love your voice, my daughter adores you. Dont back down on your dreams...GOD BLESS!"

Another devout Demi fan said on Twitter that her stint in a treatment center won't hurt her role model status one bit.

"It's hard to believe that my idol, my inspiration my everything is going through a really tough time right now. I really wish... i could be there to help her out and tell her everything's gonna be okay," tweeted @disneydreamsx33. "She's the best role model anyone could ever ask for."

UPDATE --> Keep this post drama free please, I am aware of the fact that you guys don't necessarily agree with the content of this post however it's still relative since Ashley is a part of the twilight franchise and this is a twilight fan site.

If u break-up with some1,, of course some1 is moving on. And in this case is Joe big deal, every single girl/boy has t endure this is just life. I dont believe it is fair for ppl 2 start treating thiis two (J&A) like this, they should support DEmi and thats all, the past is the past! a

She is a human being like everyone else and this is so cruel to see because I know this is not the only person attacking her. I’m a big fan of Ashley,and its not her fault. Girl needs to get her fact’s straight. Demi had an eating disorder and others problems before Ash was in the picture. It's sad :(

I love Ashley Greene also she is the best so stop hating on her. If you want someone to blame how about Joe Jonas for taking his girlfriend on tour with him and flaunting it in fron of Demi after he just broke up with her in May. Joe is known to hurt his girlfriend's so Ashley should be well aware.

Comment by Lin on November 3, 2010 at 10:55am: if this girl had bulimia and cutting issues, they started well before she broke up with Joe Jonas, I hope she is getting the help she needs but her ex's relationship is in no way responsible for this. if anything it may have been the catalyst that she needed in order to seek help, as with any kind of addiction/psychosis, you usually have to hit rock bottom before you seek treatment. good luck to her, I hope she gets a handle on these issues.
