Am I the only one who gets a major charge out of the Dr. Cullen character and the incredibly able actor who brings him to life? I sincerely hope not. I find the back story on an entity with such admirable strength of will and moral judgment to be truly compelling. I believe it is a story worth telling and I am glad that Ms. Meyer built him and his wife Esme. I am all for epic love stories that are as splashy as Edward and Bella's, but feel the quiet enduring stories are worth while as well and too often overlooked. Ms Meyer, if you are out there, please consider a new series detailing Carlisle's adventures.
He is promise and hope, power and praise
A life and a price in a promising phrase
He is lit from within as few of us are
And breaks from the trash of this world as a star
He bends with a will to the work and the woes
The horror he faces, the strength of his foes
But never does break in spite of their power
Keeps to his promise and leaves the stone tower
He is faithful, he's true, kind, loving and knows
That often what follows is not what he chose.
The beauty that sits in his sinews of stone
The beauty of life and of love that he's shone
Will live in a mythical fictional face
And probably vanish in time without trace
But not from my heart nor from my head
He'll live there forever whatever I've read.
