Just one question: There is a scene floating around from the graduation party where Jacob learns of the newborn army and states, "We're in." I can't remember this from the book (HORRORS!!) -- Does Jacob have the "authority" to say "We're in"? What about Sam? Nothing has been said about Jake being an alpha at this point, has it?

Thanks!

that's a good question but i'm not quite sure about the answer...
I think he just means that they would not leave their land defenceless and neither would Sam so he speaks for the pack. Maybe he knows that Sam will want to fight the newborns to protect the tribe and land...?

That sounds quite reasonable. I guess AFTER I SEE ECLIPSE ON WED, I will pull my book and look for that part!

It's in the middle of the party and Jacob tells Alice that it won't be a fair fight. he's looking down at her and she's on her tip toes looking at him.
