A friend, that I actually met on twifans.com, and I want to take a little trip to Forks. I live in Tucson, AZ and she lives in Ireland. I haven't traveled around the Pacific Northwest all that much. I wanted some advice from those of you who have been to Forks. We wanted to go this summer. I'd like to know which month to go? How did you get there? Where did you stay? Did you go on any of the tours? Any bit of information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Maybe we can all figure out a good time to go! It would be fun to meet up with some of my fellow twifans!

I've been there 3 times (and counting). I went once in february, once just randomly in August (Swimming in La Push is amazing), and on Stephenie Meyer Day '09. Don't expect like anything amazing in Forks, because it's kind of boring at times. But La Push, oh La Push... SO beautiful. The movie can't compare. I stayed at the Pacific Inn Motel, which is right in the middle of Forks. The rooms are pretty cheap, but SMALL. The Forks Motel (Right across the street) is also very nice with a pool too! And they also have a Kitchen Suit with 2 bedrooms for a cheap price. you can go to forkswa.com for more information on lodging. Make sure to go to the Dazzled By Twilight store for sure! A lot of the stuff you will recognize ebcause they steal fanmade poster online and sell it for like $5, but it's more about experience. The store was JUST redone, and it is amazing. I've heard the Twilight tours are super long and boring because you can go by yourself by getting a map at the Chamber of Commerce, but if you want I guess!
I live only three hours away from Forks, so I wouldn't know anything about flight tickets or anything. You would probably fly to Sea-Tac, and either drive to Forks from there (APPROX. 3 1/2 HOURS) or from Sea-Tac take a plane to Port Angeles and drive from there (1 1/2 HOURS)
Have a fun and safe trip!!

Anna Riley- Thank you so much! The more info I can gather the better. I can find my way there for sure. I just wanted to know what to see and do while I'm there. The tours sound pretty lame. I won't be taking a tour. I'm definitely going to Dazzled By Twilight. Let me know if you take another trip to Forks any time soon. Thanks again!

its nothing like the movie. la push is beautiful though. i went in april. it rains constantly so u might wanna go in the summer. we stayed at the forks inn i think. it was nice. it had a log cabin feel to it. theres a store there thats devoted to the twifans but everything is way overpriced. the tours were ok. nothing fascinating to be honest. its a very small town. you literly drive and see the "welcome to forks" sign you drive thru downtown and then a few hotels and the supermarket and you're out of town. i liked la push better than forks. just my opinion

Hi Stephanie,
Forks is gorgeous! It is roughly 4 hours by car from Seattle and just under 6 hours from Portland. I would check plane tickets from AZ to both locations, as well as rental car availability. It's a windy drive up Hwy 101 (partially a coastal highway, but not in Northern WA) but is very gorgeous. 14 miles outside of Forks you can go to the Hoh Rainforest National Park and go for a short hike - it's incredible!
Go to Forks in the late summer, August & September. It's gorgeous year round, but temps will better (50 - 70 degrees) and there will be 'less' rain. It will still rain, don't worry. Keep in mind that school is out and there will be tons of Twilight fans there so book your hotel early. We stayed at the Olympic Suites Inn - great deal for little $$. There are good B&Bs there as well as other hotels with themed rooms if you want to spend the extra dough. We did not do any of the tours, but if you go to the Forks Visitors Center (look for Bella's truck) they will give you a map and tell you where everything is - it's very easy to find everything.
Port Angeles is an hour away, go there to Bella Italia and get the pricey but tasty Mushroom Ravioli.
Hope that helps. Have fun!!

I surf in LaPush every summer. it's great! I love First Beach and the people. Made some great friends. Forks is small but a great little place with nice people and just so FRESH wow..it smells so clean and wholesome there.
If you go, you have to stay at the Miller Tree Inn. we always try to stay at least one night there. Bill and Susan will hook you up. and, check out West End Surf Shop too- Leah is friendly and cool. as for the Twilight connection- def go to Dazzled by..in Port Angeles- my close friend lives there and says that Bella Italia isn't very good- we always go to the coffee shop next door to Dazzled. it's good and rocks 24/7! Forks and Port Angeles both have great libraries btw..Forks has a really nice one- haha. and, the others are right, you can do the tour yourself if you want..not much to it. they are real places - except for the high school. so, all in all- the beach is the best for surfing/camping and the town is great for food- coffee and the Forks Outfitters rocks as well. have fun ! see you there next summer--I'll be the girl with the Bella Brown hair and a surfboard trying to catch the perfect First Beach wave!
