Explaining all the Breaking Dawn Renesmees
Breaking Dawn's Renesmee will be played by 10-year-old actress Mackenzie Foy. She is Renesmee. However, she will also be played by three other young actresses -- Eliza Faria will play Renesmee at age 5, Rachel St. Gelais will play Renesmee at age 6, and Sierra Pitkin will play the oldest Renesmee -- but not the way you might think. After all, it wouldn't be much fun to watch a character whose face is completely different every time she ages in a flash.
So special effects artists that also worked on Avatar, behind the movie are going to superimpose Mackenzie Foy's face on the three other actresses' bodies in the scenes where she is at varying ages/sizes. The digital effects used will be similar to those used on Brad Pitt in the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
This also means that there are more baby size Renesmees that have been cast, that we haven't heard of yet, to close the gap from birth to age 5. Or are we going from the birth to age 5 in a flash in Breaking Dawn? That is a little food for thought.

But we won't see these adorable little faces, cause they will have McKenzie Foy's cute face transposed on theirs.

I dont know where this information comes from (but i have heard it a lot of places on the web).
But I cant see how it's easier to put kenzies face on another body, than just make all of her body smaller digitally? Other than that would make the acting more defficult if the body and face dont act together.
It would make more sense if all these small Renesmees were bodydoubles for makenzie (like the hobbit bodydoubles in LOTR) and are used when you see her from behind together with others or from a distance.
Don't know if that made sense :P I just can't wait to see Mackenzie in action. she's a cutie

The girls are probably chosen all by face shape. Hair can be changed but if the face isn't the right shape to place a digital McKenzie face then it won't work.

At the end of Breaking Dawn, Renesmee is the size of a two year old. And when Bella gets the birth docs for her and Jacob, Bella thinks she should list her age as 5, because she is growing so fast. No where in the book is she a 6, 7, 10 year old. So I don't get it. Somebody explain why a 10 year old is playing Renesmee.

how can people say Mackenzie is too old??? did you not READ the article? It doesnt matter her age, you wont be able to tell its a 10 year old playing her as she will look the age she is meant to be.
I love the fact Mackenzie is playing Renesmee, i've followed Mackenzie's career for 2 and a half years now and im so happy she has go this part. When i read Breaking Dawn in August the year it came out she was IMMEDIATELY the one i imagined as her.
