German Twilight Books (and their meanings)

A friend of mine just send me this photo via twitter.

You can see every single German Twilight book in the first row, and some in the second as paperback with Bree Tanner (third from left).

Twilight - Bis(s) zum Morgengrauen

New Moon - Bis(s) zur Mittagsstunde

Eclipse - Bis(s) zum Abendrot

Breaking Dawn - Bis(s) zum Ende der Nacht

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella - Bis(s) zum ersten Sonnenstrahl: Das kurze zweite Leben der Bree Tanner

In Germany the saga is also called "Bis(s)-Reihe" ("Reihe" for series) ... normally you use "bis" for until.
So actually "Bis zum Morgengrauen" would mean Until the gray morning.
But because we write "Biss" (what means bite), it's ambiguous.

Here are all together:

Until the dawn

Until the noon

Until the twilight

Until the end of the night

Until the first sunbeam

I know .. bit confusing, but I wanted to share this with the non-Germans ;D

That's cool. Thanks for sharing. :) I always like looking into how other languages translate. I do wish they used the American covers, but I like that the names are translated. There shouldn't be an English title on it, if a novel has been translated. ;) Thanks again!!

sooo
fazit:
so gut wie niemand mag die deutschen covers und die übersetzungen sind auch schei.... (wir wollen hier ja keine umgangssprchlichen ausdrücke verwenden)

sooo..
twilight is the book where stands: biss zum morgengrauen
new moon is biss zur mittagsstunde (the one where she wears got a blue t-shirt)
eclipse is biss zum abendrot (the one that is in red)
breaking dawn is biss zum ende der nacht (it's the darkest one)
and the short second life of bree tanner is biss zum ersten sonnenstrahl (the one that's kind of yellow)

I don't know why, but here (Israel) only the New Moon cover is different:

the rest are the same, only with translation to Hebrew :)

I've the german books at my table and the covers are a matter of taste. But u should think about one point: No matter what language - i ♥ twilight

@Skyline - Yes! That cover/title is exactly what I was talking about. I think it keeps them more uniform then to change the cover. :P
