by Team Switzerland It’s hard to believe, but today marks the one year anniversary that Breaking Dawn was released! In the weeks leading up to the much anticipated fourth and final book, Stephenie Meyer released daily quotes for the book (check them out here), the morning before the release the world was appropriately met with an Eclipse (read more here), and the night before the release TA hit up some Breaking Dawn book release parties (check out video here). 3.7 million copies of Breaking Dawn were sold in the wee hours of the morning on August 2nd and marked the largest first-day sales record for The Hachette Book Group.
Since then, Breaking Dawn has continued to break records and bring in awards - even winning the award for “Children’s Book of the Year” at the Galaxy British Book Awards. It may have marked the end of the Twilight saga and Bella and Edward’s story, but you can bet we’ll never lose appreciation for the series and that final book.
So from all of us here at Twilighters Anonymous, Happy Anniversary Breaking Dawn!
…And don’t forget: The special edition of Breaking Dawn (which comes complete with a Breaking Dawn concert series DVD, limited edition poster, and more) hits stands on Tuesday, August 4th. You can pre-order here through Amazon, here through Barnes & Noble, here through Borders, and just about anywhere else you can think of.
