Henry Cavill...is he really not cut to play Edward Cullen?
Let's revisit the old news, the known fact that he was Stephenie's big bet for the role of Edward Cullen, saying
"Indisputably the most difficult character to cast, Edward is also the one that I'm most passionately decided upon. The only actor I've ever seen who I think could come close to pulling off Edward Cullen is Henry Cavill. Henry was Albert, the young son in 'The Count of Monte Cristo.' Can you see it? I know I can!" - Stephenie
From Larry Collin's blog on MTV, he presented
: There was no chance that the actor who landed the lucky, life-changing role of Edward Cullen would not become an instant heartthrob. But could he have been someone entirely different, and still found a way into the hearts of Twilighters all over the world?
Try, as hard as it might be, to imagine anyone winning over quite as many hearts as Robert Pattinson. Could Twilighters have fallen as in love with a different actor who scored the role? Is RPattz simply irreplaceable? Or do you think fellow British stud Cavill could have filled Edward Cullen’s shoes just as successfully?
I, too, ponder on this.
However, that is all behind us and we now live knowing that Robert Pattinson got the part. And he is now famous for it, and everybody here can only see and imagine Edward Cullen to look like Robert Pattinson. But others (those who might have came back to reality and realized that 'hey, Edward mustn't have look nearly like RPatz as the book says,' or 'what if Robert never got the part and somebody else did') just can't help wonder... will we ever love Twilight (Movie) and will we ever go crazy (as many of us are) over Robert Pattinson?
Let us look back on how Henry Cavill answered the issue of "A different Edward" from his interviews from MTV.com...
On Stephenie Meyer's endorsement of him playing Edward
: "I've heard this, but I haven't heard from Stephenie." "I haven't spoken to her personally, and I haven't spoken to the producers."
His thoughts on why he won't be perfect for the part
: ""What I've heard, or pieced together from various sources, is that Stephenie had seen me in whatever jobs I had done previously, and I was probably perfect then, but then, the ravages of time had taken their toll."
[Girls, this was how he looks then...]
"By the time the movie came around, I didn't look right for the character."
But still, Cavill said he holds no ill will and that whenever he finds time between a busy schedule that includes "Whatever Works," "The Tudors" and the upcoming Tarsem Singh flick "War of the Gods," he'd like to watch Pattinson in action. "I haven't seen it yet," he said of the "Twilight" movie. "My brother saw it and said he loved it. I hope to check it out soon."

I tell you his voice is AWESOME. So MANLY. So HOT. I can imagine Edward's voice over Bella's head on them. Hmmm, probably.
