How I Became a TWILIGHT fan.......
So, like you guys, I am a TWILIGHT fan. This wasn't always the case. You see, last spring/summer - 2008, my then 14 yr old niece Katie, brought this really thick paperback book over to the house. When she wasn't eating lunch, she was reading. When her mom wasn't talking to her, she was reading. Instead of visiting with the family, what was she doing, SHE WAS READING! During a brief break, I was able to ask her what she was reading. "TWILIGHT",she said. I then told her that I saw on TV that they were making a movie or something, but I didn't know it was from a book. She started talking about how the one guy, "Jacob", had been in "Sharkboy and LavaGirl" or something, and of course I had NO clue who she was talking about (at the time). She started throwing names out,like I knew who she talking about. "Edward this and Bella that and Jacob blah...." you get what I'm saying. She also mentioned, that everyone in her school was reading it and that some of her friends were almost done with the other books. I was like, "there's more?" Anywho, on a trip to the bathroom, she left the book lying on the couch. I then, proceeded to pick it up and start reading. However, there was NO WAY I was going to get "sucked" in,if you will, by this book. It was about vampires and high school kids and I was well, not a teenager! So, I started to read the ending and skimmed through to about the middle. Of course, I had no idea about the characters. I didn't know about James or that he was a vampire or that Edward and Bella were together, so what I had read really didn't phase me or make any sense. About that time, I started asking her questions and of course, she wouldn't tell me anything other than the book has vampires in it, and Bella isn't one and that I should read it. Well okay then.
A few months pass. Katie, finishes the book and starts on NEW MOON. Keep in mind this was about October -- remember that, as it's crucial to the rest of the story! I still had not read TWILIGHT. I'm at work one day and I overhear some of my co-workers talking about Edward and Bella and what was happening and this and that. Now, these are grown women. I see them day in and day out. They are on lunch break and what's in their hands? TWILIGHT! They are discussing it outside on the playground. I told them I hadn't read it all, just the end up to about the middle, as my niece had read it and I was curious. They were all so passionate about it. Well, of course, TWILIGHT led to NEW MOON which led to ECLIPSE, which led to BREAKING DAWN. By then, it was time for the movie to come out. A group of us from work got together and went to see it opening weekend. I took Katie with me. I wish I could tell everyone about the group of ladies I went with. Okay I will. The range in age was: 14yrs - 45 yrs give or take. All preschool teachers with the exception of one who was a high school English teacher who started the books b/c the girls in her class kept talking about Edward. The best part though, was one of the ladies, whom I adore, is a black woman, the mother of two teenagers, and had the best commentaries on the books! She loved the movie too, but wish Denzel had been cast as Laurent! lol
So, yeah, this when I fell in love with TWILIGHT. After seeing the movie. Everybody kept saying that the movie was different, but it was good. I decided I should read the books. My co-teacher Megan was reading them, so she said I could borrow them when she was finished. Well, that never happened. Seems as though, her parents,yes mom and dad, decided they wanted to read them too. And then they let other people borrow them and so on. Well, Christmas time rolled around, and what did my niece Katie get? The box set of the saga. And before she left my house that night, one book was missing.......TWILIGHT. I think I finished it in like 3 days. I was worse than she was reading. My family didn't see me for days, as I continued reading until I was done with all 4 books. However, I had to go to an alternate way of reading. My phone. I didn't want to take Katie's books from her because she wasn't finished reading, and she still isn't. She hasn't finished NEW MOON yet! And she started it last year! lol I have managed to read the actual book copies now, so all is good! Thanks to the movie, I was able to have an AMAZING visual experience as I read the books. I normally fall asleep reading, but not once did that happen while I was reading the saga. Love them!

I totally understand! I stayed up till 4:30am reading because i could not put it down:) I read it 1st in April after I saw the movie and then i re started reading it in May, love love love it!

I'm pretty sure it's impossible not to at least realize that these books are good. My brother...21 years old, tatoos and rock music, saw Twilight. He thought it was good. So he wanted to read New Moon. I told him he would like it bc it's more boyish, the wolves...the fights...(compared to the others, anyway) he liked it. He went on to continue the saga and now he has promised to take me and my friends to the midnight premiere of new moon (big mistake!! squeals? 16 year old girls...he is gonna regret it!) My point to this story: He is a 21 year old BOY. And he liked these books. Age, gender, race...it doesn't matter. NO ONE can read this saga and say that it isn't good. It's impossible.

I'm the same as you, I had Twilight and New Moon since last summer bought for my son for summer reading he wasn't interested, I never picked them out saying to myself this is for teenagers. I saw the movie I was like it was good, RP was great as Edward so I said I read the book on my lunch at work during the winter, I never picked it so it was sitting there for months on my desk, I decided the last week in April to really read the book, read all 4 in 3 weeks, now I'm on my seconding reading, taking my time this so I could understand more, so now I'm on Breaking Dawn for the second time and enjoying even more than the first, now I have my bff a work reading Twilight that's all I talk about. I will be re-reading them again, and just waiting for 11.20.09 for New Moon to hit movies. Got my Team Edward bracelets, my I love Edward Cullen shirt. I am so hooked :)

Also my picture here I bought off ebay it's a nice 8 x 10, I have Edward and Bella in the meadow staring at each other. Again, I'm so hooked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes i understand you..My friend got me hook it her fault hehe..One day in school in our P.E. she was talking about how she started reading this one nice book about vampires and all of this things..They way she got me into them where when she told me about when Edward saved Bella from the truck accident when she told me this was awww the whole time she would tell me more about the book..what can you say I'm a sucker for romance..So that same day me and my cousins visited target and guess what Twilight in that moment I called my friend and tell her Hey guess what I found the book should I get it and she said yes..And let me tell you people once I read the first few chapters especially the part when she sees Edward for the first time I was hook..From there on I couldn't stop reading my mom would put me to make the bed but instead I would read hehe..Once I finish the book I HAD TO go get the other two books bcause back then Breaking Dawn was still in progress and due the follwing year so I got Eclipse when it was barely out!! So you could picture how crazy I was for Breaking Dawn I had to wait a whole year!!! I'm grateful to my friend and the Twilight Saga they got me hooked on reading now I LOVE TO READ..Borders or any book store are my new friends :)

that happend to me to i'm 13 and NEVER reed a book in will. my sister had twilight i wanted to see the movie but i was not to go out but my broter said to my mom let her go with me plz and she said sure i seen it and love it i loved vampires befor twilight come out so EVER one in my stundt group reed it and they all got piss off with me they said*reed it or get out * so i beggd my sister laend me the book but she said no so my bff said have mine and give it back whenever and i reed it that day but i didn't want to reed i had a test thet week and a procet so i tell ever one that i can't reed it this week but i promes them that i'd reed it the next week the said sure but reed it so the next week i reed it and loove it ever one for my b day give me that saga and i cryed a lot i the saga that week and weekend and now eyertime anyone said somethig about twilight i trun into the twilight frick i am and can't stop talking about it and the all get mad at me put i'm a big twilight girlfan
