Hey!

maybe it is a weird comparison, but i work at a graphic art studio for special needs with a mentally handicap. They make calenders, notebooks, paintings a lots of other stuff. And we can't use things like you describe. One woman is a huge fan of the little mermaid and likes to paint it, it looks very similar but we can't put her painting for sale because the little mermaid isn't something we created but disney did. So does Harley Davidson, a men I work with is crazy about motors and would like to use some Harley Davidsons pictures for his calender, but he got to sketch it himself because we can't use it to sell it. Only for personal use.
I don't know if you got any wiser, but this is what i know about it :D
and btw, your sketched are amazing!

So we can't use other's franchise in our product if it's like 100% or 90% similar? Or what if I make a sketch of Rob but I add my own twist in it... Is it OK? Or I still get my ass kicked because of this?

The thing is... here in Indonesia, especially Jakarta, I've seen a lot of tees with Korean artists, or Beatles or Michael Jackson... I wonder if they have to get some sort of permission for that... It's useless to ask the seller coz they're just selling what they got from the suppliers. So I really don't have a clue... My friend said to go for it, but what if I got bummed in the road for making such illegal products???

Hey, I wish i could help you more... but this is only what I know. In my country we can't sell those things. But the thing you are saying about the tees with the beatles and MJ, i guess they don't have permission for it, otherwise they can't sell it for low prices. Near my hometown we have a Bazar, a huge market with all kinds of fake stuff, they say it is real stuff and sometimes it is, but sometimes they have problems with the people who represent the real brands.
But to be honest I don't think you will get big trouble with it, but i'm not sure... So don't go after me haha ;) You're sketches ar worth looking and wearing!

I guess every country has different issues about it... I've asked Twilight Community in my city & they said it's OK as long as it's for exclusive base (like fan base) and not publicly marketed. Facebook & twitter still OK. So I'll just go for it!!! Fiuh... Hope I can find the right person to print this things...

Yes I also think that, we have a very picky country with that kind of stuff...
You really should go for it It's cool that you can make it, if I lived closer to you I would totally had bought one from you!
