First and foremost...

Let me just start this out by saying that until I bought this double movie pack, I had NEVER seen Donnie Darko or have interest in it. It just seemed too……weird for me. Then again, I love The Cell and that’s not exactly a “normal” movie.

A little note about Donnie Darko:

DO NOT WATCH THIS INTOXICATED! Ha ha, I am seriously going to have messed up dreams tonight. Was it a scary movie? Nope. Just psychological and that, to me, is worse than a horror flick. But it was a good kinda bad. This movie and it’s continuance (Thank you J. Action) is NOT for everyone. It is dark and very deep and requires the majority of your attention. It is one of those kinds of things that if you missed a moment, you missed the whole plot. Very much like, LOST in fact. Only it’s not a deserted island we are stuck on, it is in this kid’s psyche. .A psyche that involves the tale if a demonic rabbit named,……(wait for it)….. Frank. AWESOME! Just what I needed. Screw Peter Cottontail, I have Frank!! Easter next year will NOT be the same… *shivers*


Now, onto S. Darko:

The continuance of the story of Donnie Darko was something that I was a little more than slightly wary of, since I had just watched that (Donnie) for the first time a few hours before putting this DVD in. Let me just say, I am VERY happy I bought the double pack of movies. I think I will be going back and seeing all the clues and hidden gems that you miss the first or 2nd time through. This continuance, is brilliantly done. The director and writer did an AWESOME job staying true to the Donnie Darko theme and story line.

Now, let me just go ahead and talk about the Elephant in the room. Jackson Rathbone. Ok, we all know the guy is wicked talented and can handle anything thrown at him (will someone please throw me at him?) but this… this takes the mother freakin cake! How amazing he was in Twilight and Criminal Minds… is nothing, I repeat, NOTHING compared to where he goes in this movie. I mean, it floored me. I couldn’t even move when he started to talk. At first, he’s all geeky and you just wanna smooch him. Then… he turns into this…person. A person so dark and so sinister… you couldn’t help but almost WANT him to do what he was trying to do…to you. (watch the whole movie.. You will understand.)
