Kristen Stewart apologizes for 'rape' comment
Kristen Stewart apologized in her interview with People magazine for a poor choice of words.
The Twilight star went from being a victim of the paparazzi to being criticized by victims’ rights group. Stewart rarely likes to be in the spotlight but dating British eye-candy Robert Pattinson made her even more swamped by paparazzi.
In her previous interview with Britain’s Elle magazine, she claimed that the press intrusion made her feel like she was sexually assaulted. “It's so... The photos are so… I feel like I'm looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can't handle it. I never expected that this would be my life.”
In addition, she explained how ruthless the press can be. "What you don't see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction.”
In an interview with People magazine, Kristen Stewart sincerely apologized for her lack of consideration for the rape victim associations and acknowledged her mistake.
“I really made an enormous mistake – clearly and obviously and I'm really sorry about my choice of words. I made stupid remarks before.”
She continued, “Violated definitely would have been a better way of expressing the thought. People thinking that I'm insensitive about this subject rips my guts out. I made a big mistake.”

so she made a mistake let her be who doesn't makes mistakes sometimes?!? i've read some sites that criticized her a lot , its really cool that she acknowledged her mistake though...love you kristen!

bless her, she is using the word as a metaphor, even your mind can be "raped" so i dont blame her, its nice that she realised that it could be seen as offensive love her

I find this all nuts. She wasnt saying she felt like SHE was being raped, she felt like she was LOOKING at it. I think there are huge differences in the two.

well it's great to know that she apologized publicly for it that shows the kind person that she is , so,Public apologies arent easy, But the mistakes are less aceptable when the person who did it is a "Public Person" like her. But not only her other young "Stars" need to improve your speech, be cautious with the answers,know more about everything, ......Because most of them only know about your OWM world;INFACT if somebody asks a question that differs from their movie their're working or Album or other hollywood life it is very difficult for them to answer because they dont know what to say. It would be great if each actor/actress not only takes care of their apperance but they should also take care of thier intellect too.Because they could speak about any subject and they could be a more interesting person.

There is hugee debate over this and I neither agree nor disagree with both the bloggers and commenters on this subject. She should not have compared having her photograph taken to rape but I do realise that she meant more good than harm in that she was trying to say the paps and the crazy fans that stalk her don't understand NO. But still Rape is a seriousness and she having actually been a spokeswoman for RAINN she should have known better than to say such a thing.

I agree with Stephanie. She had no need to apologize. It was utterly unneccessary to put her in such an uncomfortable position. However i do believe it was good that she did apologize, as she would have been immensly critisied if she didn't.

Kristen did not need to apologize. While her choice of word may have been unfortunate, she meant no harm and was using a dramatic word to express a point. However, her apology was honest, dignified, and she made no excuses for herself. She was devastated that her comment offended people that she tries to help, she is involved with many rape crisis and prevention organizations. She said she was sorry and she meant it. People should just forgive and understand that it was an honest mistake!

To the people who don't accept the apology as enough...WHAT DO YOU WANT! She said it and she said that she was sorry...there's nothing else she can do!
