Kristen Stewart in Flaunt magazine "I'm insecure and misunderstood!"

Under those slumped shoulders and often cold-glare eyes, Kristen Stewart is just as insecure as the rest of us — so she proves in an incredibly revealing new interview in Flaunt magazine.

The Twilight star tells Flaunt’s Gregg Lagambina that she was wracked with nerves before her latest film, The Runaways, debuted at Sundance. “I thought everyone would write s*** reviews. I thought everyone was waiting, itching to say that I should just go back to Twilight. And no one said that. I put so much into it. I would have died working on that movie. So if they did say those bad things, then I might as well just stop now.”

Kristen also explains why — at least in her mind — she might come off as aloof and standoffish to others. “I get defensive and that has probably perpetuated people’s idea of me never smiling. I kind of shake my leg too, so people think I’m always uncomfortable.”

As for how she makes her film choices, K suggests it’s all just instinct: “Who knows what you’re going to connect with and then be able to live up to? I can’t just read a script and say it’s great because there’s a part for me, my age, perfect—I can’t live that life. You know what I mean? That’s just not me.”

And she takes us deep into how fame has changed her: “Yeah, I definitely act differently. I’m definitely overcoming a lot of it. The only insecurity I’ve developed is just being overly paranoid about everyone looking at you when they’re not.”

It's not the greatest thing in the world, it's one of the hardest things in the world. But she deals with it VERY WELL. She's got her head in the right place, she's mature, and she knows how to handle herself. THAT'S something to admire. And that is a lot of pressure for a 20 year old. The whole WORLD is watching her, and judging her, when really...she's just like the rest of us. She's human, and she's real, and she has her own problems and emotions and insecurities just like all of us. And she's honest about it, she's not faking. She admits that she's not perfect, when people like Paris Hilton and Angelina Jolie won't. Kristen Stewart, you're AMAZING for being so honest about everything. As working actress myself, she's really someone to look up to.

Lately in her interviews when they ask her about her movies it's almost like she's trying to give an answer that a 40 year old would. I'm not making fun of her being educated at all, actually it's a big reason why I like her but it's like she's trying to be someone she's not...Her first interviews for Twilight were more "her".. But now it's like she is unhappy like a robot just repeating the same thing over and over again... Like she's a whole different person... I understand that she has grown more mature compared to when Twilight was made, but it's like a full 180 compared to then... Like she's on auto pilot. I mean it was 2 years ago.... not 10. People are still themselves... What i'm tryng to say is after reading or watching an interview lately it's rather dissapointing... All im saying is lately it's like she just tries to get as many big words in as she can but the interview is boring and half the time her answers are just not "answers". I suppose she would be bored of doing interviews and always being asked the same questions but it is almost like she is unhappy? It's like after every movie she does and each character she plays, she becomes them... Takes on their personality. Thats just how I see it. She is awesome though, but im not thrilled with her interviews lately. I think actors would get confused and start to lose themselves playing different character all the time and for such long periods of time. I guess they would change, personality wise, putting so much time and energy into being someone else is bound to take it's toll on our own personality.

People just need to realise when comments are written after these interviews they can be taken the wrong way completely, Im a HUGE kstew fan myself and I always defend her when people say bad stuff about her, but you didn't say anything at all, you just pointed out your opinion, just like I did. You didn't bad mouth her at all, you just said what you thought and I think it's strange that people can NEVER think that an interview is boring or whatever.... We are their fans we should be allowed our say of the interviews.... Isn't that why they do interviews?? The interviews are made for us... The fans! We are allowed to say what we think of them. She may read some of these comments and like the fact that she could improve. Jelousy doesn't come into it.... If you were jelous you wouldn't like her at all. That attack on you was NOT necessary! She is an actor but she is still human... It's not like she is going to always say and do everything we are going to like, (though she comes close lol) I don't understand these people attacking you at all... How could they possibly like EVERYTHING Kstew says or does??? I mean come on!! It's like agreeing with everything someone does or says.... How often do we do that with people we know?? NEVER! I think she got too much into the headspace of being "Joan Jett". That could quite possiby not be true but that's just what I think. lol. It's like everything is "dark" with her at the moment... If that makes sense...?

They put them on a pedestal so high and they right it in their mind everything the actors say and do is perfect... I love the actors, and I have to remind MYSELF sometimes that they are human and that "you know, I really didn't like that photo" or " I don't really like what they said there" because I like them so much it's hard to think they aren't perfect. Some people go WAY too far with the "they are PERFECT" thing!
