Thank you
Kristen Stewart for ditching your dark, vampire-ess hairstyles that were often too harsh, too punk or just too reminiscent of the
teenage grunge era.
Yesterday, the "
Twilight Saga" star revealed a lighter -- and can we say, much more feminine -- look when she appeared on the "Late Show With David Letterman".
Stewart switched out her dark brown roots for a softer, auburn hue, which was the brainchild of her hair stylist,
Adir Abergel and celebrity colorist
Marie Robinson.
"Kristen and I decided to take her color back to a color closer to her roots for the new movie she is filming, 'On The Road,' Abergel told StyleList. "Stewart is a natural blonde, and her strawberry blonde hair accentuates the color in her eyes, and really softens her look."
Abergel says he encouraged Stewart to return to her natural roots with inspirational images of
50s-era, copper-coiffed starlets like Bridget Bardot and
Rita Hayworth. To get the shade yourself, he suggests
Fekkai Salon Color 6R in Copper-Lucy.
Stewart rocked this new style with loose, casual waves that gave her a gorgeous red carpet-ready look. Yet, the 20-year-old actress was still able to retain a certain amount of
edginess -- a part of her look she loves.
"People think I'm trying to be rebellious, but that's the last thing I'm doing," Stewart told
Harper's Bazaar in an earlier interview when she explained that her rock and roll image is not an act.
Feminine with attitude. The perfect mix.
Meanwhile, this carefree new 'do probably still means that Stewart's on-screen and reported off-screen beau, Robert Pattinson, will continue spending
more time on his hair than she spends on hers.
