Everyone is very concerned about this newest disaster. Just prepare yourselves for more.  There are always after shocks and the strength of the first usually determins the strengths of the after shocks.  Also if you understand the mechanics of just what happens that causes earth quakes you'll have a better understand of why a volcano will go that's hundreds of miles away from that earthquake.  Just belt yourselves in, it's going to be a very bumpy ride.  Humans can't cause more problems than Mother Nature when She gets rolling.  The amount of carbon pumped in the air will be more than we could ever as well as the devestation of the quakes.

@Emma -- Please don't be so angry. This blog is covering a twilight-related topic on a twilight website: La Push and how it is being affected by the tsunami. My stomach is actually in knots over the earthquakes that are still happening in Japan and the devastation there. I was in the Big Quake of 1989 in San Francisco, so don't think that I am unsympathetic, because I am very concerned, more than you know.

Lin - its not that dramatic. The waves were not even that high compared to what the waves were like in Japan. The US lucked out that the waves had a chance to slow down a little traveling across the ocean.

Yep, Lin, you're talking about the 'Supermoon' on March 19 -- sounds ominous, doesn't it? BTW everyone, I made this blog just to tie in the Twilight side of the tsunami events, not to downplay anything going on over in Japan or elsewhere. Lin is correct, though -- because the La Push community is right at ocean level, I am sure they are not standing around, watching the surf; I'm sure the Quileute Nation is treating this as what it is -- a full emergency -- and taking precautionary measures. I thought of them immediately when the tsunami warnings went into effect for the westerrn coastline of North America.
