She died there, in my arms. clutching her to my chest as I rocked back and forth, singing the song I sung to send her to sleep as I weeped over her lifeless body.
My Lady Evie
whose heart is kind
can sooth and heal
this restless mind
I took your hand
that very night
looked up at the stars
saw your light
You captured my soul
as I looked deep in your eyes
the bluest of blues
and like fireflies
Just waiting for the time
to kiss those perfect lips
to hold you close than ever
this is all waiting at your fingertips...
I brushed the hair from her face and leaned down and kissed her forehead. Wanting, longing for her to wake up. So I stand on the hill where her funeral took place, as I picture it again, surrounded by her family and friends. I shed one last single tear, and say goodbye to my love, I left the red rose on her grave, not ready to move on with my life. But I knew I had to and knew she wanted me to. So I cried for weeks but soon grew to handling it, now ever night I dream of her and her red rose, and smiled every time I close my eyes. Because there she is alive again.
