Marcus Foster rocks Dallas in first ever U.S. venue performance

London-based singer/songwriter Marcus Foster traded U.K. for U.S. last week, bringing with him a powerhouse eclectic sound that brought the crowd to life during his first ever gig in America. The highly anticipated performance took place at Poor David's Pub in Dallas, TX, this past weekend, kicking off a tour that will take him to hot spots across the nation.

Foster, an accomplished artist and talented musician, was skyrocketed into fame upon the release of the Twilight Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, which featured his song, "Let Me Sign," co-written with fellow musician Bobby Long and performed by star Robert Pattinson. Further cementing his arrival onto the American music scene is a prominent musical feature in the motion picture Five Dollars a Day (starring Christopher Walken and Sharon Stone), and top billing on the film's soundtrack.

Marcus took to the stage amidst deafening applause from the sold-out crowd, and gave a performance to be remembered. His unique style is something to behold; simple acoustic riffs give perfect backdrop to creative lyrical imagery, forming an attunement with the audience that leaves them euphoric and ready for more. The experience is enhanced by his honest enjoyment of his craft; while playing fan favorites such as "Fourteen Times" and "You My Love," it was evident on his face and in his voice that the lyrics came straight from the soul. And if raw talent wasn't enough to win you over, his charmingly nervous laughter during song breaks and the contagious excitement he emanated sealed the deal.

The final strains of the guitar as he closed his set sent the crowd into an uproar, and following a standing ovation, Foster was soon enveloped by a swarm of fans as he made his way outside for a meet-and-greet autograph session. "It's insane," Marcus said later of the newfound attention and social commotion, "amazing, but a bit insane."

Based on the incredible first American performance and the outstanding audience reception, Foster should expect more of the same for a long time to come.
