Marriage Proposal dropped from New Moon?! Beware possible spoilers

I was given a link by Hattie (thanks ;oD ) where New Moon director Christ Weitz spoke to the Edmonton News about some of the changes he has made in the movie from the book.

It is said that some of the rumoured changes are -

* Bella is a DareDevil in the film in comparison to the book.

* Although Edward is supposed to appear to Bella as a voice only the filmmakers have decided to have him in the film as a ghostly figure instead of just a voice. No doubt to get him more screen time for the fans.

* In the books apparently Laurent is destroyed by the wolves, where as in the film he will fight them.

* lastly in the book Edward says he will turn Bella into a vampire if they marry. Obviously to keep things more 'teen' they have decided to remove the marriage angle.

The one that really makes my heart sink is that Edward proposing to Bella has been left out.

For one, It is such a CRUCIAL part of the story!! Are they going to totally rewrite other parts now to "fit in" with it?

And the excuse of wanting to keep things more "teen"??! Hello? Lots of fans who love the saga are adults - Myself included! And anyway, What teen girl doesn`t want a bit of love and romance in her life???

Also, What kind of message are they sending? It doesn`t matter if you have a child out of wedlock? You don`t need marriage? Or are they going to change it so that Renesmee never existed???

Sorry for any spoilers, I just hope this is all smoke and it isn`t true :( Though he totally ruined The Golden Compass so I don`t hold out much hope :(

If they change the movie too much, from the book!, it could get ugly. We're not talking about a "Disney" movie....HELLO!

BOOK. *GRABS HAIR AND PULLS* they already left out crucial carlisles story in twilight now its the proposal in new moon?!!!!! oh boy theyre on a roll wat r they gonna do in eclipse? have victoria not die but live? u kno jus in case teens get turned off by the thought of someone dying. and in BD r they jus gonna take out the part about renesmee?!!!!!!! u kno so teens wont go around and start getting pregnant. OH MY GOSH!!! stupid stupid stupid

Why can't they just stick to the book, maybe Bella being more a daredevil is one thing but to change the dialogue from the book. Doesn't Stephanie have any say. She should want to stick to the original version there is no need to change it. I love the books as they are!!!!

Comment by Brittney Gaither on June 12, 2009 at 8:19pm: changing the very successful book in anyway would be a huge mistake, and if they do i will simply not bother watching the movies and just read my books for the fourth time........ we love the books don't change anything if you do we will all be so disappointed. i understand changing it some to fit in all the important parts in, but changing it so that it is more pg is bull crap!!!!!! do it right!!!! what are you people thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
