meh.... Breaking Dawn In 3-D Will Be *A Creative Decision,* Studio Says ~ MTV reports

Summit Entertainment understands the importance of 3-D. Still, there continues to be rampant speculation about whether "Breaking Dawn," will open as a 3-D release when the first of a two-part finale arrives in theaters next year. But now, another movie on the studio's lineup may provide some clues about where Summit will take the "Twilight Saga."

"They're completely fascinated and intrigued by the technology," said director Patrick Lussier, who recently wrapped production on Summit's 3-D action flick "Drive Angry." "I think Summit has been discovering, as they've been seeing the 3-D material and the ease we've been able to work with it, is that it's an incredibly viable format to work in."

So will Summit's "Drive Angry" experience — the movie was shot using 3-D cameras rather than converted in post-production — combined with the fate of "Eclipse" at the box office , convince them to deliver their biggest 2011 release in three dimensions?

"That decision has yet to be made," Summit distribution head Richard Fay told MTV News. "It's still the source of a discussion."

While those talks inevitably touch on technological hurdles and monetary interest — owing to the premium-ticket prices that 3-D flicks command — Fay emphasized that the studio is more focused on creative concerns.

"There's certainly a financial part of the discussion," he said. "And yes, there's a certain amount of technology that has to be considered and accounted for. But it really comes down to the creative folks."

"In any of these roundtables conversations, [Summit CEO] Rob Friedman has always been concerned about the 'Twilight' patron," Fay added. "His concern is always the people that come in to see this movie. He doesn't want to turn them off or offend. That's why it's a creative decision. A big factor is the perception of our audience. What are their feelings going to be? If it lends itself to being a better movie because of 3-D, then that's the technology we'll use."

well i dont know guys but im not really into making breaking dawn in 3d!!making a movie in 3d is really cool when you have somethig allways in moving and if they've made all the movies by now "normal" i think they should be keeping it this way till the end of the series !!i dont know i dont think that will be great to see the birth scene in 3d or anything!!well but that's only mt opinion!!!:P:)i think the movie shoul end in the way it started!!!(i really needed to say this too :P)

I would prefer neither movies were in 3D but if they are going to do it, I hope they ONLY make the 2nd part 3D. It might be interesting to see Bella as a vampire in 3D but I absolutely DO NOT want to see a wedding or honeymoon in 3D. I think making all of the romantic milestones that happen in the 1st part of the book in 3D would be weird and lame and would actually make them VERY un-romantic!

well it all goes back to Stephenie's's a LOVE story not an action movie. NO 3D, please!!!! I honestly think summit would waste ALOT of money when they could use it to make a great movie, without 3D.

I'm not really into the 3D thing for BD (either part) either. I like 3D movies, but there's a very "vintage" theme of love throughout the whole Twilight series that I think would do best not being in 3D. But whatever they decide I'm sure they'll make great! xoxoxox

Ummm...I've been thinking about this subject myself. The thing is...Breaking Dawn has so many life-altering moments and twists that have to hit you in the right way, don't get the gist of the story. Like..the wedding scene for example..when they say their vows..don't lie, we all were in tears on page 57. That was amazing. But that does NOT belong in 3D!!!! Neither does the honeymoon, DEFINITELY not that!! Breaking Dawn is just sooo unique and extraordinary that it MUST be approached in the right wayy. And I'm not sure that calls for a 3D movie. I think it all depends on how everything turns out. For some reason, Breaking Dawn seems to be the biggest blind spot out of all the movies so far.

Movie review (poem):

--- So, what's my thoughts about it being in Three D?
I'd rather see the end in Two D's.

For the love of all things Twilight, NO 3D!!! It will just ruin the last movies. Its a love story above all else not some action flick. Its perfect just as it is now!
